hey, after a long absense from the game i resubbed and set up a minmatar character, and im now coming to the point where im wondering which t2 frig to branch to once frigs v finishes training? im gonna be pvping solo + with one friend in similar ship classes.
i used to love interceptors but i never flew minmatar ones - what are they like?
ive also heard that AFs have got a bit of love since i used to play - are they finally a viable option?

Yes AF's got Alot of love in Quantum Rise--Partly due to the speed revamping and partly due to the fact that scramblers shut off mwd's now, which really breathed life into ships like the wolf with only one mid to spare for tackle.
They are viable and fun choice for solo or small gang combat, and you are damn hard to catch especially in lowsec where there arent any hictor bubbles. You just have to be VERY careful about what targets you engage. Fit a tank on your AF and dont attack anything that is probably carrying energy neuts and drones like the myrmidon for example.
Minmatar assault frigs are generally considered to be the best along with gallente ones (even though i like all the af's of all races). Wolf can get some serious DPS along with over 2000 armor, while jag is the fastest af and has 4 mids, so you can fit full tackle and a sweet shield buffer.
Minmatar interceptors... many say that the stiletto is the best tackler frig in the game, but it sucks for solo combat. Claw is somewhat hindered by its bad CPU and 2 med slots, but it can still make a decent dogfighter, since its the fastest ship in the game and has the best tracking in the game tied with the thrasher using autocannons, and it has enough dps to shred most frigs...
