I just got back to Amarr but this story was too good to be kept secret.
So I was looking to do some class 1/2 WH archaeology/hacking. I did my usual routine of finding one in high sec that I could easily solo in my drake and jumping into it.
Once inside I scanned down an archaeology site and proceeded to jump there and begin fending off the local denizens (i.e. tanking them) and opening up the containers. I thought I'd see what a ship scan would find and found some wrecks, ok, someone has been here before but no big deal right? I was keeping an eye on my scanner while analyzing and saw two drakes show up. Figuring it was two people just doing a complex I payed it no mind.
As I'm finishing analyzing my last scan I see someone jump into where I am. Turns out it was one of the drakes. It immediately locks on to me and begins to scramble me. In a bit of a shock I decided to try and outrun them but the sleepers have me webbed so I'm going 17 km/s. The best part is that as this guy begins to fire on me with missiles and drone the sleeper begin locking onto him and taking out his drones (kudos to his management BTW). So I'm running away aligning to a planet or something and once I get about 10 km away, his friend warps in and begins scrambling me.
Now the thing to remember is that we're all in drakes, drakes in a pulsar system that was giving some 30% or so bonus to our shields. They can't kill me, I can't touch them. They keep on playing leap frog warping where one warps and then if I get far enough away, the other warps in and scrambles me for the next one to warp out/in again. We keep this up for about an hour or so while and they're not responding to any local chat. I finally get some message talking about how I should eject from my ship and they'll spare my life.
Eject from my ship, my ship that was tanking anything they could throw at it, and they'll spare my life. They hadn't exactly shown themselves to be pacifists so far so I did what any sane minded person would do who has finals in a few days. I logged.
I can only wonder how long they sat there trying to break my tank as I was sleeping (or trying to). I got back on after the downtime and no-one in sight. finally found a WH (I think they spawn randomly) and it led to low-sec space (I apologize for whoever's space it was, I'm sure they were surprised to see me) leading to another hair raising question of whether I was going to be ransomed off again.
My total take for the evening? If everything sells, about 30-40 million but way more fun than a mission! Good night everyone. Maybe next time I'll fit my ship with a stab instead of something for DPS.

....... Point being?
"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't thought of that," and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic. |

Yes. But to be fair they were probably beaten up a lot as children.
