I've got two agents running. Both are level 4 RnD agents, I've got the same skill level in the research skills I'm using form both of them and their quality is very similar (+12 and +14)
Yet one of the agent's RP per day is 100 less than the others. Is there any particular reason for this... does standing apply to these calculations or am I simply missing something?

he suspects you slept with Susan, the receptionist but he isn't quite sure, so he is R&D pvp'ing for her honor

If this old brain is just somewhat right. Some of the things you can research cost more than others and thus also gives you more RP/day than others so you can buy the same amount of datacores pr day no matter what you research.

Try to buy a datacore and look at how many RP it takes per datacore. You'll find starships are 150 each, some are 100, and some are 50. RP per day / RP per datacore should come up to a value close to the same # of datacores.

<race> starship engineering gets X3 <race> weapons related gets X2 everything else gets X1
they also cost X3 and X2 amount of RP#s / core so your not losing out - this is a remrant from the Lottery system -- BIG Lottery, BIG Deal, InEve |

They really should remove this, IMO. And make it standing based maybe...

standings do have an effect
just like with mission agents, standings only determine whether or not you have access to them. social skills that apply to missions, also apply to R&D agents (connections, negotiation, etc).
the base RP rate is determined purely by the level/quality of the R&D agent, and your skill in the particular science you are researching.
~~~~~ Remember, EVE is a sandbox and other MMOs are rock gardens. Pretty rocks can be collected, but collecting sand is pointless. Instead build a sandcastle and keep it from being knocked down. |
