2 days ago i got to experience how awful it is to be scammed by scammer using the contract system. many may ask how on earth i fell for it, well i have been been sick, got a flue and my attention was not at its best. the scammer said in local that he was selling a item way below market price, i clicked on the link to the contract and didn't notice how many zeros where behind - and zap , i was scammed. i contacted ccp with petition and was told that they do not interact in situations like these, even it would be very easy for them to do it. so i suggests that ccp puts it into EULA that players are to treat each others in a brotherly and fair way, and or even specific that scam like these are not tolerated and that ccp can interact and undo the damage. for example by getting the isk back. it would be easy since wallets keep very detailed logs over transactions.
another idea is a triple warning system. its like, the system asks you 3 times if you are sure if you want to accept contract for that much isk, 3 times should be enough for ppl to realize how much the item costs, or even add to that system that the isk ammount is 1/4 of billion. or 1/2 of billion isk. and more ideas. some electronic stores have 14 day money back policy. if you are not satisfied with the item you bought. you can return it to the store and get your money back. this idea could be put into the contract system. that if the buyer , for some reasons. is not happy with the item he bought. he can get his isk back. maybe not have it 14 days money back policy. but ppl should realize over 24 hours if they have been scammed or not.
and like to end this by express my disappointment with current ccp's policy to not interact with players who scam other players using tools provided by the game to do it, i have heard stories about ccp interacting with scams in the past, and don't understand why they want this to be a part of the game. it surely is not fun.

It is your own fault you got scammed. CCP has stated repeatedly that scamming is indented gameplay. You will not get anything like that in the EULA. You might want to try WoW or Hello Kitty Online for a more friendly atmosphere. EVE is by design backstabbing and unfair and cruel and blightfull. -------- Ideas for: Mining

Scamming and non-consensual PvP. Both are the subject of endless requests for removal by players, and both are major selling points for Eve used by CCP. Don't count on removal happening, ever. Yes, people leave the game because it's hard, but CCP has to find a balancing act between that and people leaving the game because it's too friendly. Scams are here to stay.

No, I don't remember it as I wasn't playing Eve then. I recently discovered the joys of a properly unregulated game where people can act as they like to an extent. They can scam or be scammed. It's evolution at work.
Not that I think it's perfect, by any means. There are mutliple changes I'd make to the combat system alone, but that's a different story and if that's what I want I can suggest it, go find a game that has it, or I can invent said game myself. As it stands Eve is by far the best game out there right now and it suits my needs, so here I am.
As to me being a loser, I'm not the one who started with the ad hominems - I merely suggest that if you are leaving Eve it would be a waste to let your ISK sit in an unused account. Your choice, of course. And WoW is SUPERfun!

I've noticed that the contracts now display text for the price. Such as 1,500,000,000 (1.5 billion ISK)
However, when that happened, then players changed their tactics.
Now they list 1,499,999,999 because it doesn't recognize (almost 1.5 billion).
However... you should have learned number places in elementary math class.
It's your own fault for letting the scammer win.
Quote: well i have been been sick, got a flue and my attention was not at its best.
When your hard earned ISK is changing hands... you might want to pay attention.
Now you learned the hard way... you can either take the lesson to heart and move on, or you can run away to My Little Pony Online.
If you do happen to decide EVE isn't for you... then by all means, don't let your valuables go to waste.

It's evolution at work.
how can it be a evolution at work. when players are using a clearly not perfect contract system to exploit other players. its a evolution when ccp changes that system to avoid players to exploit others with tools made by game developers. not sure how you can understand this if you don't remember the old contract system. what is to be evolved anyway ? you want ppl to learn trough a online game that it is bad to exploit your neighbor - something your parents should have told you.

It's evolution because it weeds out the tards of society that believe they deserve everything even though they ignore the warnings that pop up. ------------------------------------

Then it's obvious you can't read Dev posts either...learn to read and comprehend what Eve stands for. ------------------------------------

your comment is as ******ed as those three.
to OP: sorry man, but you should know better then to post that you got scammed. contract scams are so easy to avoid, people who fall for them are a figure of fun. i have no sympathy for you.
currently you have two options: a) suck it up, accept your losses, acknowledge that there is always more isk and move on. b) cry on the forums, hoping someone will give you a hug, a kiss and a lollypop.

Evolution of the players, not of the game. Survival of the fittest and all that stuff that they should have taught you instead of creationism. It is bad to exploit your neighbour IRL because there are consequences, and that is pretty much the ony reason we don't live in an even more violent society than we do now: look at Sierra Leone for an example. We do unto others because worse things will be done unto us. In Eve this isn't the case. You assess the possible consequences and decide if you can live with them; if you can, you act, if you can't you don't.

These people prey on the stupid and the greedy. I don't think that you fall into the former category, but i bet your little eyes lit up with the prospect of some easy coin eh? C'mon admit it mate - you got greedy, you got burned. No sympathy, sorry.
Man up, move on and take it on board. The best lessons in this game are the ones that cost you lots of isk, but that's how it is.
