Im getting no bonus for fleet mining. Was this supposed to happen? I dont recall seeing anything about it in the release notes. Anyone know anything about this? |

I just talked to my buddy and he is getting his bonus. I dont seem to be getting mine. Some sort of bug maybe?

Check to make sure that the character with the bonuses is a) leading the fleet, and b) the lowest possible rank commander (squadron commander most likely).
Unless your character has the skills for wing and fleet command, they can be in "command" of wings or fleets, but can't give them any bonuses. Use right click >fleet>move member>squadron commander |

Yep. I know how fleet works. I was getting a nice bonus before the patch. Now its like Im not fleeted at all. Same mining amount fleeted or not. I even moved him around to different spots, wing then fleet, no change. Just to try and nail it down. Its not just a typo either, my mining yield for a full cycle is down, so its giving me what it says it is. No bonus. I just cant figure out why. Any more suggestions? Maybe someone will hit on it. Im clueless at the moment. |

If it's not commanding from the wrong position in the fleet, could you be more specific about your set up? ie, what's your mining ship, what lasers/strips, crystals (could it be you were using a crystal and it finaly popped?), and are you just using the mining forman skill or are you using warfare mining links to?
Finally, did you recently die with an outdate clone and lost mining skill levels (:P just covering all the bases), or get podded and lost some kind of mining implant

I fly a fully fitted hulk with T1 strips fleeted with a similar fitted hulk. No gang links. Mining foreman is trained to lvl 5. Before the patch I got 1468 m3 per cycle per strip while fleeted. Now im getting 1229 m3 and the yield I get on a cycle confirms the 1229 number. Im going to try going to a different system and see if that makes any difference and also try letting the other guy be squad commander too, just for giggles. |

OK , I have confirmed that changing bosses changes the mining amount. One guy isnt as high in mining foreman as the other. So it seems the fleet bonus is working. That means that a ship bonus is not working. I tried going to another system but there was no change. I dont know what to do at this point. I have Exhumers 5 on both so they are trained as high as they can be for that. Any other idea's? |

God I hope you're joking, I just read the patchnotes and didnt see anything about veld, and making it harder to get would only make it worth more. Veld is the best ore to mine atm because it turns into so much trit, which isn't worth shiat, but you make up for it in bulk. This is driven by the number of people building ships and whatnot, that all require huge amounts of trit. If they make veld harder to get, the same amount of trit will be needed so it will just become even more expensive, and even more people will say screw low/null sec mining and go back to high. The only way to return veld to low isk yeild status would be to make it even EASIER to get, which would drive down the price, or to change the trit costs of every item and ship in the game (lets not try to copy the more failish economic practices of the USSR) so that you don't need as much.

Im pretty sure that isnt it. My buddy says his mining amount hasnt changed. This problem may be specific to me. No one else has posted anything about it. If there was something going on there, carebears would rise up and post. I bet this is specific to me for some reason. Until I hear from others with the same problem, I got to think its me. |

lol , OK, I figured it out. I am sooo stupid I swear. I forgot I changed the mining laser upgrades in favor of cargo 2's. I dont usually run like that.  Guess Im still a newb! I got a pointed hat around here somewhere, Im looking for it now so I can wear it proudly the rest of the day.  Thanks to all who tried to help me. |
