I have a compaq with windows vista. I accidentally unplugged the internet cord, and when I tried to restart the game, a window pop came up and interrupted the game starting. Since then, the game will not start, and I tried re downloading the game twice, and it still does not start. However, I have not tried to uninstall and then re download. What should I do?

Working on this myself as well. Can't get the damn thing to start, and I've uninstalled/reinstalled twice. I tried wiping out the settings folder under C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\f_eve_tranquility\settings but no dice. I'll post if I find anything.

Deleting all the folders in C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility fixed it for me.

Same problem here as of this morning. I left EVE online all night, docked at the station. When I came back no buttons were working, then EVE crashed.
Eve will not start, its stuck at the bottom tool bar. Deleted the entire folder and reinstalled (redownloaded) twice. Eve sits at the toolbar and it does not show up on the task manager as "Running". Uninstalled and cleared cashe twice. Rebooted, reset the modem and the network...still the same problem. Beats me whats wrong with it.

Well, it worked.
I uninstalled EVE and confirmed cleared cashe from all characters then reset the modem and all network connections and all network connections and let them sit turned off for about 10 minutes. Then d/l and installed again and now EVE starts.
Try that.
