How many missions does it take to bring sec status up again? Say I'm at -1 how many missions would it take of level 1, 2 or 3 to bring it back to 0? I've done a few lvl 1's but it doesn't really show ...

Sec status is increased by killing rats. The type and size of the rat you kill adds to your sec status but the increase is very slow (I think it took a solid month of ratting / missions to replace 1 pod kill in a 0.4 system), there is a catch however.
All the kills are buffered for 15 minutes in the system you are in, after the 15m the rat with the highest sec increase to you will be applied and the rest will not be added. This means you need to kill 1 rat per system per 15 minutes or you need to do alot of missions in different systems. Higher level missions have bigger rats which give bigger sec increase.

And train fast talk-->5% bonus to effective security rating increase towards concord.
