Hello there!
I have been looking around ,search here and there but i have found nothing. Been playing since a while now, and i wont hide that I AM a drone fanboi, and I tend to fly drone carriers only.
It never was a problem for me, to manage my drones whilist in dominix, or ishtar, even having multiple groups (lets say i have many 5x small types) but, i have been also flyning my carrier lately, and ive encountered a "problem" :P

Many of you will say that i dont need this or that, and maybe you are right, when i would need light tracking disruptor drones? but oh well, im a drone guy, and since i got a ship that allows me to siege every single drone around, hell im gonna do it.
So far, i could not understand how those groups are sorted, is NOT alphabetical, nor made of drone size, nor made in the order you careate them, is totally random, and personally i think this is weird.
I am aware of th efact that not too many will found themselves in the situation i am now, but, can you ccp just do it that drone groups follow alphabetica order?
this way all my "EWAR" drones will stick all toghether, and then following the next letter, would be nicely in order and so on.

even worse, the order is switching around, when you deplay and scoop drones (at least with the 3 groups in my domi it is).

Any kind of ordering would be greatly appreciated.
I guess alphabetical would be a very easy and sufficient solution. Probably coupled with type of drone (light/medium/heavy, Combat/EW/Logistic/Sentry, etc.)
You could just put a number in front of the group name to control the order.

Or just allow drag&drop in the current drone window.

The fact that drones aren't in alphabetical order is really annoying. You can create folders, which I do, but it'd still be nice.
Also, being able to see the drone health when they are in the drone bay would be cool so you can deploy only the healthy drones, or only the unhealthy ones if you plan on losing them. |

This window is also a perfect candidate for a search box, which is what I would probably use to deploy drones in most cases. Heck the search box could solve the need for ordering. Create your group of drones as you have do a search on the group name and there you are.

100% Agreed it would be good to be able to sort drones. Was just about to start a thread for that exact thing before I found this one...
I also thought it would be nice to be able to stack commands for them as well.
So you could say 'Engage this, Engage that, then that, then return to drone bay.'

What is this? A thread which contains ingenious yet obvious and simple solution to a common problem? A solution which should be easy to implement?
I'm pretty sure CCP will add this feature in no time!

I have spoken to CCP Devs about this on sisi several times in the last 7 or 8 months. It shocks me that some sort of organizational feature has not been added to make the drone sub folders easier to sift through. When your flying a carrier with hundreds of assorted drones, it can get tiresome trying to find the right folder in a jumbled random fray.

Not a new idea, there's probably a reason ccp hasn't done it yet.
The devs are all to lazy with making crappy effects nobody likes (see, all bubbles, warp effects, sensor boosters, tracking computers, ECCM, etc.) then scratching their heads at why pods warp vertically.
Then they fling poo.

YES YES YES!!!! DRONE ORDER! CAN I GET SOME!?!?! I spend more time scanning through my drone list tryign to find what I want than I do killing stuff. For the love of all things holy and for the sake of my sanity... PLEASE alphebetize the drone list. I'll fly to the UK just to hug you for that!
