Edited by: slothe on 29/08/2004 11:16:58 I would like to add that recently, after UNICOR took a beating (with a lot of members deserting , some joining the former enemy ) the seeds have been formed for a rebirth.
There is now an active pvp unit that is growing in strength daily, and operating around the lonetrek / pureblind area killing more enemies than losses.
All is not lost
Further, i noted that in the tps v unicor war, the strongest weapon that the tps had wasnt their fleet, as they took similar losses to us, but their psy-ops.
Cao cao, the end, blockiondi etc worked extremely well in their propaganda and other tactics to demoralise opposition players. They would message players telling them how good their pvp was, and try and pursuade them to join them. A lot of this i believe was false flattery seeking to turn players to the dark side, which eventually worked in a lot of cases. Ive seen such players, who were praised, subsequently insulted by the corps after they joined as UNICOR turncoats etc
Everlasting Vendetta during the war lost a lot of players, including a lot of their pvp forces for reasons unknown to me. It was sad to see this great corp suffer such losses.
Its very easy in such hard times to give up and move on to an easier option especially in the context of negative propaganda. However in the future i hope all UNICOR members are more resolute and steadfast and grow stronger by holding on in the face of opposition rather than crumbling.
Rant over...

Nice report and most of the calculations seem ok. However the total sum is _WAY_ off.
a) if you add a platinum insurance cost, you cant add the 110mil for a tier2 BS on top of it as "loss". You get more out of the insurance then the ship costs on the market. b) if you dont have any insurance, you get a basic insurance payout.
So no matter what you do - you never lose the full ISK value of your ship. Without any further assumptions, the total sum therefore is inflated by several hundred mil ISK. |

I dont think you can complain about that after "bragging" in your report about your "intelligence network" the "many layers of your corp" and citing infos from EV corpchat/forums/TS
And hi Selene btw. |

The total provided was DAMAGE in ISK, not net loss for EV. Therefore the figure given is correct. The purpose isnt to represent how much money EV lost, its just a way of quantifying how much stuff we blew up!
Before anyone starts flaming, please bear in mind that we did not want this report to become public. Let's let this thread die peacefully. ----------------------------------------

Or that is all we could catch out in the open? Honestly, who cares? Not everything in this game is about the number of BS kills.
As to the damage estimates, please. This is simply our "quick tally" method and it works well enough. If someone wants to start a new thread on how to do this, then feel free. Good luck in comming up a method that is accepted by the entire community.
Slothe made a good post, BTW.
Zincol is also correct that "what is done is done". Once this report was sent to our client, we considered the matter closed and did not give it a second thought.
Quite frankly, no one is paying us to care about this anymore and we have other things to worry about... like our next target. -

One thing that i would like to make very clear.
TPS contacted our Merc corps that we employed a long time before any discussions about the withdraw of UNICOR started.
I think that this does highlight why any organisation should not trust TFA and those who associate with them.
As yet again we now see how they are uncapable of dealing with sensative information, and should never be trusted.
Again we are given an example of how the initial merger between GN and TPS was a big mistake, and it confirms that we are right and just in our decision to use the powers in our Charter to have the security council vote on their removal from our alliance.

not trusting TFA... hem, novel idea.

Too bad it had to be leaked. Rather cool report though. Goes along nicely with the very cool movie that was made :)

I don't care much about those numbers from biased reports and all, that's only ISK. But I don't like the way N'fran supposedly is portreyed here. This matter of mercs on our backs hasn't to do with that at all. And the real reason isn't any of your business.
Btw. Seleene you forgot to mention your cool vids ;) ___________________________ Favorite bumpersticker of the month: My head hurts! |
