Ok... all I am gonna say is this..
Look at at shuttle... say the Gallente shuttle... 150 CPU right?
Now look at the minmatar Covert Ops Frigate... bare in mind these are VERY specialized vehicles which are designed for a SPECIFIC purpose. What do you see? 200 CPU.
Nuff said.

Yeah you're right, it definitely has too much CPU, and must be nerfed immediately. How dare CCP give the covert op ships more CPU than all other frigates, and the ability to warp invisible, travel at full speed unseen and warp twice as fast as the next nearest ship is capable of.
*/me goes to get a mop to clean up all the sarcasm dripping from his post*

I judged my analysis on the fact that the shuttle has 150cpu, NOT because the Covert Ops frigs can do all of the above quaint little list. These ships are DESIGNED to do those things and are role specific.
Increasing the CPU would only be the natural course of events for development of this type of technology and role. Hell take a slot away or something and call it "We had to remove a slot so that we could upgrade the computer systems onboard, producing more CPU power".
As for why shuttles have that much CPU? Perhaps there is an Xbox onboard, in addition to a DSS dish with all the adult channels, a microwave, sonic shower, surround sound stereo system and a 46" Plasma screen. (Shrugs) I dunno.

Shuttles cannot use any of that cpu so it is completely irrelevant.
They can have 2000cpu for all i care, it doesn't affect anything. ________________________________________________________

Like fitting a CPU?

200 CPU should be more than enough, what the hell are you trying to fit into that frigate ?
Try bringing Covert Ops to at least lvl4 so the COCD only needs 100 CPU, better if you have it at 5, then the COCD used no CPU at all.

ôNow look at the minmatar Covert Ops Frigate... bare in mind these are VERY specialized vehicles which are designed for a SPECIFIC purpose. What do you see? 200 CPU.ö
Well Covert Op cloak needs 5000 CPU so if you want any chance in using it without max skills your going need a 200CPU base. DonÆt Covert Ops ships have most of there insides ripped out and replaced with an advanced spatial field control system IE a big computer. Even there powergrid is smaller then normal due to the added CPU.

The problem with the Covert Ops ships is that their only cool bonus is split off and put in another module that only they can use. This is a stupid design decision that, thankfully, only the Covert Ops ships suffer from.
Can you imagine how lame it would be if interceptors had the same base speed and sig radius as normal frigates, and had to use special ultra-expensive MWDs to get their bonus?
Covert Ops should be able to warp while cloaked with any cloak installed, and their skill bonus should be a 20% reduction in the speed hit from whatever cloak they are using, and a 10% reduction in sensor realignment time. The insane CPU reqs can be rebalanced with this in mind.
