I have been trying to get my Caldari state standings up by running missions. I have been running for the Caldari Navy. I don't do any missions that are against the Gallente but my Gallente standings keep dropping from "derived" reasons.
Are there some missions that don't have Gallente as the enemy that still are bad for my standings?

Yeah, any storyline mission will give you negative standings towards anyone who doesn't like the faction who gave you the mission. On the other hand, you get positive standings with anyone who likes them.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

What you can do is move to Gallente space and run missions for them until you balance out.
Then keep moving back and forth.
The standings you gain for completing missions should outweigh standings lost from storylines.
Or you could just go murder Serpentis rats. Does that still work?

You got that bit right. But you must do storyline and you must decline all missions that involve killing empire-faction ships.

Your ****ty Gallente standing is derived from your good Caldari standings.
If you want the good Gallente standing back, just decline a whole bunch of missions from your Caldari agent. Your Caldari standing will drop like a rock and you Gallente standings will come back up. |

If you complete storyline mission for Gallente you get +100% Gal standing and -50% Caldary standing (It is based on stanndings between gallente and caldari) So one storyline for gallente and then one storyline for caldari and you have +50% for bouth (it will not work if you have more then 5.0 standings afaik)
So just keep same amount of storylines for both sides.
Note that standings penalty for killing ships, buildings and failing missions do not get delivered standings + for other side and should be avoided at all costs.
