This is really strange, when I am next to a space station or a planet the Frames per second slow down to a crawl where is almost looks like slow motion play back. I have tried everything I can think of and not sure what is causing the problem. I have closed all programs and run eve by it self and still. I think it might be something with the drivers of the video card. as my previous laptop had a radeon mobility 7500 and had no problems I am really no liking the radeon 9200 card that much nothing but problems for me. Any help or suggestions once again appreciated.

You might try switching to Omega drivers for your ati, just google for Omega Drivers and you'll find them. It improved the issue a bit. Also, the ATI drivers went into infinite loops when other players webbed/nossied rats around me, causing a reboot. Again Omega drivers solved this. I did have to adjust the screen afterwards to a lighter tint, but other than that have not had problems with the Omega drivers.
I think the problem is Eve uses the card in different ways than ATI planned, and since they can't write good drivers, the best thing seems to be to go either with Omega drivers or a NVIDEA card.

I suffer from the same problem. When I am approaching a station the FPS is very low but that¦s only if I look at the station and my ship at the same time. By flying "backwards" into the station, me looking at my ship's noose the fps is back to almost it's normal value.
I use Geforce2 MX 32 MB. Does anyone know if there are certain drivers for my caard that would suit EVE gaming better? --- We have the technology for destruction. Can we use that knowledge to survive, reverse the process and make something great? Our calling is not to die - we have to find a way to survive... |

Try the blue screen of death whenever you look at a station (including undocking). Like I've got atm. _____________________________________________________________ War is much too serious a matter to be entrusted to the military. Georges Clemenceau (1841 - 1929)
