What's the highest ehp and passive dps tank u can get on a BS? Sticking to CN hards not estamel or anything crazy like that? Was looking at a rattle snake as it seems to have the best slot layout for that kind of thing but not to sure. Advice appreciated.

Edited by: Vyllana on 23/04/2009 01:00:12 Ship setups are very different depending on if you want max ehp or max passive tank. Max passive tank would probably be on a navy mega, since you can fit 8 spr IIs on it. Max ehp would probably be an abaddon with a bunch of plates/eanms + dcu.

SPR? My brain can't decypher this.

Shield Power Relay II's is what I assume he's talking about.

Edited by: Pottsey on 23/04/2009 06:18:57 A Navy Mega could get 1329 omni tank or 1704 ish PvE tank against two damage types. Both of which go up a reasonable amount with a gang member, but it wouldn't be the most practical setup to fly. To make it useable I would guess you need to either fit a cap booster or drop some SPRs to lower the tank down to 500dps.
A useable Domi setup can hit about 1000 to 1300ish solo. A Kronos is about 781dps against serps. Some of the T3 Proteus builds go to about 2000dps tankable against serps and over 1000 omni.
All the above is assume T2 equipment. Which is best really depends what are you after PvE, PvP? any must have none tanking modules? turrets?
For effective hitpoints a Navy Mega should be able to get over 200k

IIRC, Machariel fits the best passive shield tank.

Edited by: Benedikt Miloslav on 23/04/2009 17:35:25 Edited by: Benedikt Miloslav on 23/04/2009 17:31:04 EHP alone, I think a standard fit Bhaalgorn without implants gets 300-350k or so (omni) but I'm not sure. For passive tank, Rattlesnake is the best, and 1500+ defense against a rat type (other than angels) should be reachable without a lolfit, but I think the machariel is pretty good for that too.
EDIT: Just did a quick check and to actually get that much out of a Bhaalgorn, you need to seriously pimp it. Checked again and it's 3 Amarr Navy EANMs and 3 T2 Trimarks for 340k EHP.

Drake is a good Passive tank/ Active Hardners bait ship. With t2 fittings and Good skills, a Drale can easily tank over 50K EHP omni With 2 Invul Field II's and a Photon Scatter II. 3 SHield Extender II's, and 3 SPR II's, a PDU II and 3 x Core Defense Field Purgers. It won't have much in the way of heavy firepower, But it will diffently give fits to all but the biggest fleets for a vew minutes.
P.S. You may want to carry some FOF missiles in case you get jammed. Gives them hard time, especially the close range tacklers.

I remember sticking an Abaddon together in EFT once with about 450,000 EHP, would be awesome sauce if didn't cost billions to fit.

Drains far more cap then Nos and due to Nos, Neuts both large and medium its next to impossbile for your target to time there cap booster correct and make decent use of it. Stagger all the large Neuts for more effect. It's fun knocking an enemys cap down to zero. I have killed many a target in a similar setup to above. Dont forget to overheat the Invulnerability Field. ______ How to Passive Shield Tank T2

EHP buffer tank - I haven't actually worked it out but here goes: (Navy Mega)
Rigs: trimark II x2, anti-explosive pump II
Lows: 7x reinforced bulkheads II, DCU II
Mids: 1x photon scattering II, 3x invuln field II, LSE II
Highs: Doesn't matter much - you're not going to do a lot of damage with this!
Appropriate implants and gang armour bonuses of course. My theory is that the opposition laughs as your shields and armour are shredded really quickly - and then stop laughing when they have to start on the hull.

[Dominix,]
I just want to point out that the dominix is NOT a good bait ship. You want something shiney, that people think they can actually take. A lot of people won't bother trying to take on a domi unless they have decent numbers/ship types on their side...in which case you could throw any ship at them and they'd take "the bait". ---

ehp 159.5k just cause,
bait ships should be completly unexpected tanks, a navy mega or a CNR will make them think they need backup, but a standard raven or mega (especially ratting or sitting in a belt will be a solo target)
edit - and these are much cheaper to replace then rattlers and cnr/navy mega
