In order to celebrate the launch of pluggit.org, a social bookmarking site for eve online I am pleased to announce a competition with a first prize of 75mil. Second and third prize to be announced at a later date.
The winner will be the member with the most votes on a single link submission. Results will be announced on the 1st of June.
You can submit anything you like so long as its at least losely eve related. Community Videos, Fan Art, Forum posts, eve tools, whatever...
This is a social bookmarks site so it is designed to drive traffic towards the content creator. If you haven't created the content yourself please give credit by linking to the owners site rather than hot linking videos and graphics.

Might I suggest changing the competition?
It'd be very easy for an alliance to just mass-register and vote a single video of theirs (or even a large corp).
Also, grats on pluggit - awesome site :).

I don't think any large alliance would do that for the sake of 75mil. They are more likely to to it to push a bit of propaganda or recriutment material, which is always a danger anyway.

Thats a good idea, but I meant something like this: Linkage If someone had already submitted that it would show the number of current votes. And people who had never been to pluggit could vote remotely.

Considering all you need to do to win is post links about eve and talk about links other people have posted (which almost everyone that posts here does anyway!) I think 100mil is a pretty good prize.
Like the guy on SHC said, some people would complain that the free ice cream was the wrong flavour and they didn't want free ice cream they wanted a pony instead.

Just a question, is there any way to automatically post updates to Pluggit.org?
I have my own blog and I would like to just submit my own RSS feed to auto update things for convenience.
Also, there seems to be TWO multi-user blogging sites that popped up in the last few weeks, yours and mygamescribe.com.
What are the different things you can offer between mygamescribe.com (just so readers can get a better understanding)?

I think the main difference between mygamescribe.com and podlogs.com is that podlogs is fully oriented for eve-online bloggers.
Mygamescribe.com is a multi-games platform.

To answer your first question, yes there is a way of submitting your rss feed. However, it is likely that this will become a limited time offer, so get in quick! (The script currently has to be run manually twice a day & the more feeds get added the longer it takes to run. You can sign up to get your feed included here.
Both podlogs and myscribe run on wordpressMU, which is a multi user version of normal wordpress. The main differences are:
1) Podlogs is a 100% eve orientated site, where as Myscribe is a multi game blog host with a focus on eve at the moment.
2) Personal taste, While they are both setup on the same engine they have been configured differently with different plugins. Myscribe currently has more, but as I have said on the forums elsewhere I can always install ANY plugin a user requests for their blog (so long as its compatible and wont break the site)
3) Themes, We are both offering a different range of themes so again that comes down to personal taste. Podlogs has all of its themes available for download. A lot of people already have a wordpress blog on their own domain, so I thought it would be nice to share :)
4) Podlogs has pluggit buttons on all of its themes, as I run both sites. Myscribe has not included them on all of its themes yet I don't think.
There are probably more differences. I just cant think of them right now :)

Oh yeah, one more thing I forgot to mention. I will only do automatic imports from sites that have the external voting buttons installed.

When you first submit a link it goes in the "upcoming" section. Once it reaches the threshold for being "popular", which is currently 5 votes then the link gets moved to the top of the front page.
As the site gets more and more use the threshold will go up, so that only the very best links are on the front.
