I have two quick questions. I've never actually been pod killed, as I do not pvp that much.. at least i don't remember being pod killed.
1) How easy is it to pod kill someone? (or how easy is it to get pod killed?)
I'm guessing it also varies by ship class?
2) Is there any reliable way to pod kill a target? (like smartbombs, frig decent sensor skills to insta-lock?)
Thanks!

1) Close to impossible in low-sec vs anyone that spams warp in a non-laggy area. Very easy in 0.0 if you have dictors.
2) Interdictors, drop a bubble and there's no way they will get out. Smartbombs work, but it's not as reliable. Sensor Boosters (and/or Inties) help of course, but anyone smart will be out of there in time unless you have a bubble. ___________________

Many of the people in FW are new to PvP and don't really know how easy it is to prevent being podded. Besides that, lag can be a factor - and I hear a lot of people complaining about that in FW.
But yeah, if, when you're about to pop, you spam the warp button, the only way to catch you without a bubble is lag, as pods warp instantly and not even a sensor boosted inty will lock fast enough.

FW is frequently subject to desync in "big" (that is to say - small) fights.
You can also get people right after they lose their ship if they got their interface set-up incorrectly so their wallet and evemail blinks. The lag that causes will often let you snag their pod.

When I was in FW I remember being in a medium sized fight against the Min militia. I found it easy enough to pod people when their ships went pop, either because they were lagging or for some reason wanted to hang around to watch the fight. Remember that is conflicts where your opponent is likely to fight you again (eg wars, or FW) you will be in a greater danger of podding cause they want to knock out your implants and stuff. Personally I would never pod outside of a war dec or FW. Its just bad manners I think

Pod killing in high sec can really only happen if you are at war with the person you are fighting. Anyone else will get concorded. It is, however, possible to suicide kill your pod if you are sitting in space and someone comes along who is willing to sacrifice their ship.
Pod killing can occur anywhere else. In low sec it causes a severe sec status penalty but in zero sec it is fair game.
In empire wars I have pod killed quite a few targets. Most of the time when you pvp your target will be spamming the warp button when he knows his ship is dying. Sometimes they will even eject from the ship early to avoid getting podded. Some folks, however, do not realize they can be killed and will not warp off immediately. Some will lag out or are slow hitting the warp out button.
In zero sec you can get caught by warp disruption bubbles as mentioned earlier and this virtually guarantees you will lose your pod. It happens.
If you are going to pvp alot you need to have a medical clone at all times that will cover all of your skill points. You should also have a jump clone and jump into that clone when you know you are going to be fighting or are going to be taking any serious risks. This will prevent you from losing valuable implants.
To improve your chances of pod killing someone else a sensor booster with scan resolution will improve your locking time and will probably improve your odds of catching the target before they warp. A smartbomb (in zero sec) will certainly give you a chance of catching the pod before it warps. It might also get you concorded in high sec or shot by the gate guns/station guns in low sec.

Smartbombs.
I have never seen a smartbomb fit ship in FW yet. People get podded in FW due to lack of experience. Some people blame lag but I have yet to see lag in any of the FW battles I have been in and some have been pretty decent sized engagements like 20 v 20. While this is by no means a large fight from the way people scream and cry on the forums I was expecting lag to be worse. ---------- This post brought to you by the worst PVP'er in Eve |

Pod killing is easy, use a interceptor and/or a lockingspeed-boosted frig/interceptor. Works like a charm. But if the pilot warps the spam button and there is no lag then you will not be able to catch anyone.

before the ice belts got moved out of high sec some macro ice miners died to my "disco" ravens often thier pods would go to.
Once it was two hulks when hulk cost over half a bill each.

1.) Pod killing someone is very easy. A sensor boosted Destroyer will insta lock and insta pop a pod.
2.) Fly a destroyer. it is the most reliable way to get pod kills.
Your welcome.
ALSO... here is the big secret to keep your pod alive longer. as you are starting to go down, ALIGN TO something, when your ship pops, spam the WARP TO to the same place you aligned too. If god is smiling on you, you should be able to insta warp out pretty much. If there is a hint of lag, my destroyer fit will catch you every time.

basically just hammer warp as your dying and then you tend to just insta warp off. If you wanna kill somone easy thing is to just fit a couple of large smartbombs and as the guys going into structure just stagger fire them and he will die 99% of the time.
