Hai folks. so long story short I am a hardcore miner. mining several hours each day or until I mine out my system. but what do you other miners DO with the ore? I.E. sell it raw? or break it down and sell minerals? or even break it down and craft items? I wanna get the best profit out of my effort so please! share your secrets! Tell you what, why don't you recruit a few like-minded friends and I'll reprocess the ore for you at 100% efficiency and buy the minerals at a very good price, the higher the volume the better the price (higher than local price anyways).
Mail me ingame and we can perfect the details.

I would suggest you make yourself the spread sheet with prices on the RAW ORE, and sell it on local markets.
A thing that Miners really should start doing more to help saturate the market with orders. This will also get you the best price and income in isk/hour.
Need more details drop by the scc lounge and look me up..

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but...
Since you mined the minerals yourself they're free, and since they're free they're not really worth anything on the market. So your best option here is to make some Rifters and sell them into existing buy orders.

The best way if you refine the ores but only if you have perfect (or near to) refine. You need Refining V, Refinery Efficiency V and the appropriate Ore Processing II. Also, you need 6.7+ standing with the corp owning the station you want to refine at (to have 0% taxes). For a miner the easiest way to raise staning with said corp is to run courier missions or fleet up with a missionrunner. Also, I wouldn't bother with production. You'd need some more skills like Production Efficiency V, you'd have to study the market (which is a lot of work) looking for profitable items and you'd need researched BPO/BPCs since by default, almost all blueprints have 10% waste (some 5%).
Also, you won't get rich as a lonely miner in hisec. You can make around 10 mill ISK/hour if you have perfect (or close to) skills and you mine veldspar (all the other empire ores worth less!). Your either need multiple accounts or have to move 0.0 to make decent profit. A decent missionrunner with good skills (let's say a year old toon) can make around 30 mill ISK/hour running missions in hisec. Currently in 0.0 you can make around 40-50 mill ISK/hour mining arkonor (if you can sell it ofcourse and don't get blown up by NPCs or other players). |

Of the high-sec ores, Kernite and Omber (just the basic version, not the versions that have 5% and 10% bonuses) should be sold raw. Everything else should be refined and sold as minerals.
In practice, you'll make more money mining Veldspar than anything else. Raw basic Kernite will sell for more than the trit from Veldspar does, but you'll be able to find much more veldspar than unbonused kernite. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

You forgot that there are MINING missions. Agents whom are manufacturing and mining give for the most part mining and courier missions with a few kill missions in between (yes I've had days where 6 mining/mfc agents have all given me kill missions back to back :( )
Your options really depend on what your skills are and what your buddie's various skills are.
Some people dabble in various items and others do strictly a one trick pony gig.
There are some nice R & D agents that have mining mission agents in certain NPC corps too. Easy to up your faction for both purposes at the same time as getting better refining rights <leaves 2004 agent faction refining rant at the door>.
Mining -> sell ore
Mining -> refine -> sell minerals
Mining -> refine -> manufacture -> sell items produced
Depending on your skills you can maximize any of those trees.

I was making good isk selling trit. Its in demand and most empire asteroids have a bit of trit in them.
It may have not been the best way to make isk, but it served its purpose.
