say i am in a industrial. I warp into Jita and there is a hostile. I'm still cloaked and decide to eject from my ship and take him or her on a trip through the system. What cues does or can the hostile get that there is one of my ships out there without a pilot?

The only time you should ever eject is if your about to lose a T3 ship. BECAUSE OF FALCON! |

say your in a iteron, the Overview will just say Iteron where the pilots name normally is, and show info will show it empty.
Then its just a case of jumping in, having a look whats in cargo and docking.

You can't eject while cloaked. The ship shows as neutral, and will (very, very, very) quickly be snapped up by anyone and everyone nearby. Once you eject, the ship is no longer yours - it's whoever the next person to board it is. ---------------- Ambulation Answers

If you eject at a safespot (book mark it!), they can use scanner probes to find your ship, but I would say its highly unlikely they would do so, unless they saw you in the industrial, and then shortly after you weren't in it. Especially in a busy system, you would get so many "ship" hits on probes it wouldn't be near worth the time.

I don't mean to pick on you, Renarla, but this is a great example of how not to answer people in the Q&A forum. New players need more precise answers with actually-valuable information.

just to repeat what lui kai said
no, there will be no indication to the war-deccer that you own an unmanned ship in the system. for the very simple reason that you DON'T own an unmanned ship in the system. unmanned ships don't belong to anyone. or rather, they belong to whatever pod pilot boards them first. and if you go wandering for very long, that's not likely to be you.

I'm not convinced that the negative answers are entirely correct.
If you eject from your ship, it is true that anyone with the skills to pilot it can come along and board it without any negative consequences (i.e. it is not considered theft) - and after they do this, the ship is then owned completely by them.
However - while the ship is still empty I think it's wrong it say it's owned by "no-one"; I'm fairly sure that it will still display the corp ticker of the previous owner, and if you "Show Info" on it you can see the owner (in the same way you would with e.g. a cargo container). More importantly, because it is still an asset of said corp until someone else boards it, you can shoot at it without CONCORD interference if you are at war with that corporation.
At least, this is how it used to work. I haven't tested it recently, but I find it hard to believe that empty ships will be owned by "no-one" (i.e. display nothing in the "Corp" column of the overview) while jetcans, freight containers, wrecks etc aren't.

Only time you can really eject from a ship without it being stolen is within the shields of a POS. Then you just have to trust that a member of your corp doesnt steal it, lol.

^^ Incorrect. Just as with salvage, concord views it as something you no longer want. Why would you eject from a ship and its cargo unless you no longer wanted it.
It'll still have the corp ticker, but anyone can take it. Plus the person that takes the ship will not aggress to the corp who previously owned that ship.

Under normal circumstances there is no reason to eject. Ever.
Since you can't eject while cloaked, you may as well make an attempt to warp off from the gate and hope your war target doesn't kill you. Whether he kills you or not you should take it as a reminder that flying sluggish ships around without a scout in wartime is a bad idea. At least if he kills you some of the loot will die too, whereas if you just eject and warp off the guy can have a corp-mate come in, commandeer the ship, and be off with ALL the stuff inside.

My guess is that the empty ship would still be your's, until someone else boards it - then it is their's. They would not have stolen it - it would be salvage.
I would not recommend trying it.

An unmanned ship is still considered the property of whoever ejected from it. If you do a 'Show Info' on it, you'll still the pilot's name and corp and CONCORD will still respond (or not) to any aggression against it. If you destroy an unmanned ship you will still receive a killmail and it will show as a loss to the pilot who actually owned it, even if they weren't in it at the time.
However, anyone who has the skills can board it without CONCORD or anyone else (except possibly you) caring. At that point the ship and anything in it is the property of its new pilot.
