Edited by: Ta''jek on 03/05/2009 12:21:29 Currently I am close to training for the Bustard and when finished will only be one level off from the Mammoth so for those that use them how much difference is there between them? roughly similar or worth training up the mammoth as well?

Mammoth is minmatar industrial IV - with cargo rigs and expanders its 27,000
Bustard is Caldari Indy V - with rigs and expanders its 30,000 - slower, has a native +2 warp strength, 50 mil more expensive (comparing with rig costs included - mammoth takes 3 rigs bustard 2), takes 3-4 more weeks to train for.
If you need a hauler thats capable of MWD+cloak trick for hauling in low sec, and have a need to carry 2x battlecruisers (30,000 m^3) - then go with a Bustard.
If you're cheap and are satisfied with an afterburner cloak trick (you're vulnerable for 1-2 seconds) and you dont have to haul 2x BC at the same time a lot then go with mammoth since it takes 4 days to train for.
My alt flies both.

What omarvelous said though I will add that the mammoth is probably the best pure empire hauler in the game for its price of both isk and sp invested. Stick on 4 med shield extenders and an invul field(still gives half bonus with skills when not activated) and you have a nearly suicide proof afk hauler to move suprisingly high isk value goods around.

Considering the Mastadon is a Mammoth on steroids then yeah definitely train for one as you can get an omglulz huge buffer tank with command ship level omni resists and still pack in 17k m3 of goods.

I think mammoth is wicked and Bustard is not worth.
The only "+" is the incrusted warp stabilizer thing lol.

Mastodon...you just have to love a hauler that looks as bad ass as most battleships wish they did.
