er - set@home has "signal candidates," but they're only on the first few passes on analysis of any of 'em - checking the candidates hasn't really gotten fully underway, they're still concentratnig on isolating candidates from the raw data. So this is an odd misinterpretation, but New Scientist seems a little, uh, tinfoily to me anyway
I keep checknig, but none of my submitted results have produced a candidate yet :(
PS: yes i'm on the EVE seti team. And in the top 20
You are in a maze of twisty little asteroids, all alike. |

If this article was true, there should be some info on the above mentioned links. There is however no info, so the article doesn't seem to have any reliable source.

I read an article on this and SETI said that it's nothing out of the ordinary. Just another false alarm. Don't get too excited.
psst.... lightyears is a measurement of distance, not time
psst.... our sun will be alive in 35 million years, no problem

That's why everyone needs to stop using oil, but dumba$$ governments can't see past their next term in office. If they had to look 100 years down the line they'd probable cack themselves. --- "Due to the European lard shortage, we are currently unable to supply this product." |

Edited by: Danton Marcellus on 06/09/2004 01:26:32 These are the long range sensor boosters, in 200 years we'll see the torpedos closing in.
As for the doomsayer link, I don't take anything serious that's written in caps, underlined or with text later added within brackets as to sell a sentiment i.e read this text in this perticular way.
