dominix is a great npcer, try to have ability to control 12-13 drones as these are her main offensive weapon.
dominix also has poor powergrid for the largest of large weapons, engineering 5 helps her alot, she can fit 5-6 large electrons pretty easily, they work well under 10km.
she is also an effective armour or shield tanker, but since armour tanking is more effective all around i would recommend going that route, with 1 large repairer and 3 hardeners. run a microwarp drive, and fit 3 cap chargers and a webber in med. the large electrons will kill frigs if they are webbed. you may also need to fit 2 reactor control in low to fit all the high powergrid usage modules. (not sure if you will need to or not with engineering 4)
this is an extreme closerange setup that does relativly high (compared to other tier 1 battleships) damage over time.
dominix is the most underrated battleship in the game, and dont let any "pvper" tell you otherwise.

Depends on the NPCs. If they are of a type that stays at 20 KM optimal, go with named dual 250s OR possible the in-betweeen large rails (forget the name, never used it). As has been previously said, electron blasters are good if the NPCs get up close.
Armor tank with 2 med tech II repairs (Grid on the Domi is sick bad, don't waste it on 1 L repairer) and hardners for the NPC's race, use the mid slots for cap charger IIs and/or a webber if you're using blasters. One tracking comp II isn't a bad idea either.
BW
PS. The following should be read with a grain of salt. While I have flown this ship a TON in my time, I've also had such bad luck with them I've sworn them off as cursed

The biggest strength it has is its drones, so tank it first worry about guns after.
Chrome Born.
P.S. I field tested a friends dom with my mega (my ship of choice) and if it was not for the fact I had a great tank, her drones alone would have torn me a new hole ;)
BTW, its a shield tank not an armour tank.

Train up whatever you can.
Slap on 6 425's and make sure you have a MWD on. Keep all the Mega and Domi NPC's at 30k's and you can rip them apart with your guns whilst your drones lay into whoever you want.
Drones can stop anything getting close and also distract the BS pirates fire away from you. They are also a major advantage on this ship -- train to fly them to the max.
This is a nice safe set-up as you can always get away if you want to. Getting in close carries risks that for NPC's are not worth it.

When i was npc hunting blood raiders in a dominix, i found it better to stear clear of hybrids.
The setup i used was:
4x dual heavy pulse 2x heavy beam lasers 4x cap recharger 1x ab 2x hardeners 2x large reps 3x cap relay
I didnt come across a spawn i couldnt take... and the 4 dual heavys do alot more damage than fitting 3 350mm rails.. and for around the same cap (all modulated tho). The dominix is really limited when it comes to using its own races weapons, with the only viable options bieng dual 250 and electron, apparently 4 extra drones makes up for that.
2004.08.22 21:03:00 combat Your Anode Light Neutron Particle Cannon I perfectly strikes callonious [BSC], wrecking for 236.9 damage. |
