Edited by: Limited Slip on 05/05/2009 19:54:33 I've been wanting to do this for while now.
I am going to select one person from the applicants, that I will guide through their first six months of EVE life and train her/him to become a fearsome PvP pilot. This will include everything from high-sec griefing and ganking, through low-sec piracy, to null-sec warfare.
Other than PvP, I will also teach you how to procure your equipment and initially will provide some myself.
You (the applicant) will have to write a motivational letter either in this thread or mail it to my character in EVE.
Applicants must be: - at least 20 years old - have an EVE subscription - not be older than 4 months in EVE - visciously wanting to kill the rest of EVE population - not Amarr
Feel free to apply, or ask questions!
See you in space,
Slip

Amarr is the only race I am not skilled to fly. I have no experience with the ship setups, gun ranges, tracking, etc. |

What you are looking for is someone like yourself, but are you looking for someone who is able to play as much as you are or someone who plays once in a while.
If it is the last of the two then i am what you are looking for, i have less than one month of play time, but my account has been active for two months soon.
Pvp is perhaps the only thing that draws me to any Game, so as i can put the other players in their place. All i need is a bit of guidance.
Choose wisely.

I would be interested, can use all the information and guidance I can find and I'm NOT Amarr. I was thinking of training caldari but ended up going drones for now (have super high int/mem so training all those skills) and training up gunnery skills later, I'm going Gallente.
I joined EVE for the pvp, teamwork and beating the living snot out of people although atm I lose more snot than anticipated hehe. I'm not quite sure what you offer though, would I have to join your corporation?

Great initiative. I would sign up, but my account is way older than 4 months even though im not that good at all.
Here's an suggestion. Why can't you record what you are doing and comment/talk/write about and post it on youtube as flying lessons. I'd be the first one to appreciate it, I would most certainly watch all of them.

You do not have to join my corp, nor could you even if I wanted you to.
Good question on what I'm offering!
- I will help you remap your crappy attributes, that all first characters inevitably screw up. I had to endure 3 long years until they introduced attribute remapping.
- I will help you in creating a short term skill plan, that will make you a useful member of a gang or fleet.
- I will help determine what you want to specialize in in the future and create a long term skill plan.
- I will provide you with the initial equipment you lose in PvP, so you will never ever have to run a mission.
- I will teach you how to earn ISK in null-sec space.
- I will teach you fitting principles, PvP roles, maneuvering, tactics and strategies for solo, small gang and fleet engagements.
- And last, but by no means least, I will help you make other EVE players envy you, fear you, and be generally sad.
This in a nutshell.
I would however require a proper introduction from you. I also would like to know why I should pick you from the group of applicants. There will be only one applicant accepted, so I expect you to elbow your way in!

on another note,
if we are antisocial to a point where we do not interact with you will that still consider us potential candidates?
will there be "tips" be given out to those who apply?
and what would happen if we attack and kill your trainee after you pick them will that be cause for you to rethink the decision you made for your trainee?

You can not be too antisocial for me to accept you. I will accept you even if you don't contact me. I think...
Tips? Like to cab drivers? No.
My trainee will die several times, in varying situations and will not get emo about it. Also, I will not announce who my trainee is.

No, I am really enthusiastic about this project and have been wanting to get it started for the last 6 moths. The Youtube idea is great, but I am not sure I want to share my knowledge - and before I am accused of arrogance, this knowledge I do not consider to be my product - with a wide audience. I would like to give one capsuleer a serious edge in her/his career, as an appreciation of what this game has given me in the past 3 years.
I am by no means angry, the antisocial comment merely tries to assure, that pilots that apply are thirsty for the blood of their fellow pilots rather than roid-juice.
Also updated the op with the info from my latter post.

Sounds pretty cool. Ya I get ya instead of teaching a couple hundred people on youtube (potentially thousands) of being Ok at what you are doing, it's not that kind of feedback you would give back as in a 2-way communication that is required to make a top-notch pilot.
Anyways, after this project is done, I hope you expand, and share what you know I would love to have something to watch during that downtime every day :)
Good luck to you, and whomever your going to choose =)

What's the policy on Alts? I'm just an old carebear but have just this past month started an Alt I plan to PVP with. Could use someone to show me the ropes. Could be an upside to you in that I can fund my own PVP and provide my own equipment. So technically yes he's under the 4 months but I'm no stranger to EVE.

Throwing my application on the pile. Or lack thereof. I may win by default if you close this thing soon enough.
I meet all your criteria: - Over 20. - Just turned this trial into a subscription. - Less than 1 month game time. - Not Amarr.
And I suppose the most important qualification, a desire to destroy other denizens of this universe who were either to slow, to stupid or to unlucky to get away.
I've spent hours on these forums reading, research, learning about this game. And while I'm sure I could pick it up after losing a fair amount of ships, having a mentor would undoubtedly make the process of becoming a feared PvP'er much much faster. Plus, I have no one else to fly with at the moment, no buddies in game, no interests in any specific corporation.
Concerning play times, I'm on in the nights and weekend US time. I have a full time job so generally do not spend more than 4 hours a day on but with advanced notice I can stay on for lengthier amounts of time as needed.
Hope to be considered. And if not, you might just find yourself in my sights one of these days

Edited by: Katsuoto on 08/05/2009 08:15:55 Hey...
Ehh I meet all of these requirements but the time requirement. Honestly my character is rather old but I have been inactive due to joining the military and being at my first base getting setteled...
I do meet the requirements with the exception of age of character: - I am 20 years old - Have an active running sub and plan to for years - Returning player so semi old date on bio - I do want to visciously kill the rest of EVE population, especially after seeing the hate in the forums for months and getting blobbed. - I am Gallente, not Amarr
I will more then happily write a motivational letter/post as to why I should be picked, but not until I can find out for sure if I am eligable.
I hate to say it but you probably wont be interested Limited becuase I cant begin playing regularly until around the 5th of June due to me returning home from my deployment. However when I get back I will be playing on average of 60+ hours a week...
My character is a 2007 character, but was inactive after two months all the way up until about 2 months ago when I reupped and began training skills while serving out the rest of my deployment, which is now coming to an end. I was playing here in Iraq for about a month, but my laptop blew up on me last month. All in all in game time I have about 2 months of actual experience... Its all up to you Limited, if you are interested in my app I will gladly take time to write out a full and true application with a motivational letter as to why I SHOULD be picked over the rest of the new players.
Let me know boss.

Your mentoring offer catched my eyes because I like your attitude.
I am an intelligent and highly motivated disciple carving to stay on top of the foodchain. Ppl have to face that life is hard and my wish is to make it even harder for everyone. Only those who are challenged will show their true capabilities. Fights are the essence of life. And as NPCs don't live I don't bother to fight them.
I stand out through my intellect and the capability to react and adapt to changing environments very fast. Self-teaching is the basis of my success.
My PVP career started in another MMO (Anarchy Online). From the day I not just aimed with my rifle at another Player but also pushed the trigger - with the knowledge that the result will be my death - i got hooked. At first I easily got better until the day I almost could kill anybody...rsulting that ppl started to headhunt me. From now on the easyness was gone. I suddenly was at the bottom of the foodchain again. I died, died and died. Though with every death I learned more until I slowly climbed up the ladder again. It wasn't some pew pew anymore though it became hard work. But the harder the work the sweeter the returns...
I won't post RL circumstances on a public forum, so if I am considered we can gladly talk it out in eve.
Just to check the list: - I am over 20 years old - I have one EVE subscription (and willing to pay for another if required) - Ingame since 1 month - Always starved and thus looking for prey - Gallente

Not sure what the hell a motivational letter would be like. I'm not a preppy carebear who is enthusiastic about ratting in 0.9 to keep the lowbie frigates safe. I want to get into alliance warfare but before I get in capital ships and slug it out I want to learn the ropes in the Interceptors.
I don't care to be in some big flashy ship for now. I want to warp into system and have some in general type my name to warn other players to warp out.
I am: - Im 24 - I have 2 EVE subscriptions though you will only see this one - I've been at this for a month so far - If I could blow up an School of Applied Knowledge station by ramming it with a freighter filled with ammo I would. - I'm Caldari - I don't want to join your corp
Why should you train me? I'm fast. I learn fast, fly fast, and anger quicker. I know when things are my fault and when they aren't. i love whiskey, women, and weapons.
Why shouldn't you train me? Cause I'm not going to be complete until I blow up your ship. It will happen. Don't worry though, I'll let the pod go

I dunno man, if you are really that desperate to help newbies become a sergeant for a training corp. To me this sounds like you want someone to be your pet or will steal their soul after they sign or something.
Just cruise the rookie chat channel and find someone who might have some brains. Give them advice and then offer to take them in.
-And the high-sec greifing part sounds dirty to me. Most newbies wont like it. Especially if they are coming from Warcraft or some other game. Normal low and null-sec should be fine.

Yea man, high sec ganking is so dirty, most newbies from WOW won't like it. And yea man, I feed on newbie souls that sign up to me. It's so cool man, you should try it... all their newbie souls taste so good, it's awesome, man.

I wish to submit my application.
Im 25 years old. I dont play this game with friends and I dont know anyone that plays this game. I receive pleasure from games such as this one by ruining other players experiences. Explosions are fun.
I've played through the trial account about 4 times in the passed couple of years but I finally decided to activate in hopes of being selected to undergo your training regime. I'm better suited for this than the other applicants simply because I would utilize this knowledge on a daily basis to wreak havoc amongst the stars and cause others to never feel safe anywhere and experience the real meaning of unsecure space.
Until we cross paths...
