I downloaded the update, worked fine at first, then got an error message....can't use on this version of OS 10.4? It was working fine on 10.4, why must it be for 10.5 only, I have no other reason to spend $100 on an updated os. All other apps I have work on either version, can someone address this please?

there is a mac help secyion further down the forum ... maybe here
if you buy eve in a box from my game store i will give you isk (GAME , parkgate rotherham)

OMFG see even apple know eve was ment to be play on a PC

To be fair, you can't play EVE on Windows 2000 either. EVE's system requirements show:
Windows XP/Vista, or Mac OS X 10.5.6 or greater.

10.5 is required for Apocrypha.
Just get Leopard - you won't regret it! You do gain a lot of really useful features like Quick Look in Finder and Mail, Spaces, and Stacks in the Dock. Spotlight works much better than it ever did in 10.4 (no more stuttering as you start typing).Also, the two silly rounded corners of the display go away :)
Many new-ish apps will *only* support Leopard anyway. Three programs that I use on a daily basis come to mind: Keynote 4, Pixelmator, and Papers.
10.5 is available for $60-ish on Ebay.

Tnx for all the help folks, was able to get the client working again (for now) by re-installing Eve, then not installing the patch. It asks me twice to update, then after declining I play as usual. And yes, I will be installing Leopard soon
