hey all
i have question which i have googled and googled and i cannot find an answer.
i want to be able to manually select the screensize of eve's windowed mode. I'll explain
i have a standard 1440x900 connected to my macbook pro. If i go into the config file and change the setting there so eve runs windowed it runs in a window which is 1440x900 + the top border! so it is actually 1440x920. Making the bottom of the eve window drop below the screen.
This is very annoying because if i minimize any window it goes in that 20 pixel border where i cannot get it back. and running at 1280x800 wastes so much screen space.
does anyone know if that is possible? to set eve to run at 1440x880? for example. what kind of command do i add to the config file for it to do that
Or alternatively can i make windows in eve minimize to the top of the screen? that would also be a ****ion

Use SwitchResX to define the custom resolution you want, and then have EVE use that. ---- FREE Explorer Lead Megalomanic EVE Null-Sec Player Influence Map http://dl1.eve-files.com/media/corp/Veritefw/FWinf |

Greetings Verite,

Could you please go into a bit more detail about how to achieve that? I've added a custom resolution into SwitchResX but EVE won't use it. I'm quite new to OS X, therefore I feel a bit dumb :(
Thanks and take care, Urban

I'm not sure there's much extra to say. Once you add a custom resolution and reboot, the EVE client should see it as an option. If you're having issues, I wouldn't have the foggiest idea what's wrong. ---- FREE Explorer Lead Megalomanic EVE Null-Sec Player Influence Map http://dl1.eve-files.com/media/corp/Veritefw/FWinf |

as Verite said, make sure you Restart your mac after you've applied all the SwitchResX stuff. Then, open the System Preferences... from the Apple menu, click the Displays icon. Check that you can see your new custom resolution there. If so, then Eve should also recognise it. Launch Eve, log in, switch to windowed mode if not already there, press Esc to bring up the settings and on the first tab, click the drop down menu that should now include your new res too. If it doesn't show on the Display control panel in System Preferences then you haven't got SwitchResX installed correctly. hope that helps
