48 cruise missiles to kill cruiser? 36 to kill a frig? Such a waste. Seems like i've tried it all...light drones, medium drones, small railguns on my raven, medium railguns yadda yadda. Can't figure it out...i know how it works with the large missiles and small signature radius and all but what can be done about this?

As long as you're flying a missile ship, this is the way to go.

Someone's speaking the truth here. And the most important thing is to make sure you can actually field 5 drones( if you haven't already), took we way to long to train for that and boy did I notice a difference. Still don't have a lot of support skills, but they don't hurt. Well, they won't hurt you, they should hurt whatever you're trying to kill.

Drones V + Drone Interfacing IV + Combat Drone Operation IV should do

Train thingie navigation prediction and guided missile whatchamacallit. And fit a target painter.
Should be OK for cruisers.
You still want T2 lights for drones though.

Drones v. Drone inter FTW!!!. Combat drone ops V...then navigation durability to like 3-4. Trust me if you're mission running and gonna just do 4's. The drone skills are worth it. And if your drone skills are high enough you can just use meds against anything pve which helps chew up larger targets faster. _________________________

Hardly- a half way skilled turret user can insta pop frigs at range or with low transversal.

if you used turrets on a regular basis against rats you'd know how infrequent that is to happen. __________________________________________________ I was Amarr before they were the FOTM and I'll be Amarr after it! I'm also training Minmatar Capitals! And I eat Lions! |

this is gospel truth. even t1 lights just eat frigates if you have the support skills in place.

not rly :P
i use a megathron, it has tracking bonus :), got the gunenry skills at lvl4 atm, and i use the 425mm prototype gaus I (15m a piece i think)
and using antimatter i can instapop frigates at 33-56km using 6 guns, and insta pop 6 in a row... its just all bout skills i suppose....

I'm 4% short of maximum theoretical CNR DPS and I fly...
An Abaddon. Have since even before the missile nerf. Even before I had large energy V.
Gun ships don't work like a Raven. You need to do a bit of rudimentary piloting for best effect. If you head towards the rat you're about to splork they'll fly AWAY from you, even when they're at optimal. Which means insta-popping frigates and cruisers even when they get to within 10km.
Consider trading your CNR in on a Rattlesnake. You'll have 2 slots to fill with 250mm dual rails for the smallfry. Or just get an alt account with a drake or nighthawk.
