NoHawker	Posted - 2004.09.04 08:15:00 - [1] Ok so I killed me a indi and struck it rich, 3 local hull conversions, a partial hull conversion and prototype cloak. I took my spoils of war and visited the carebears I so love to torment. Told them I was selling the stuff and after some haggling I had me a buyer. A member from the same alliance who didn't care I where I got my spoils from. We agreed of a place to trade and went my merry way with caution. I was being trailed by one of her corp mates and I knew it was a trap but I also knew she was serious about buying what I had to sell. Met at a NPC station we traded and I was 22.5 million richer. Now I had to decide what to do.. call it a night or have a little more fun I dropped the rest of my winnings in the station and undocked. There I saw a Tristan and Krestal we started talking, she asked me what else I had of value. What I did have left was safely in the station... just in case. I locked the Tristan in the hopes of provoking a reaction. Sure enough I provoked something she opened up on me the sentries wasted her. This is the part I don't understand... The Krestal pilot the one I made the trade with (Arriyanna) fired on me too. I was expecting the guns to waste her too, but they did nothing. I was getting hurt so I decided to dock. This is the funny part... for some off reason the station played dead on me. I was right clicking on the station to bring up the windows menu and nothing... it was like I was clicking on a ghost. I kept trying to right click and nothing till my ship finally exploded. In my pod I tried the same thing with the station, nothing. So I tried to right click on the nearest planet, guess what? yep nothing. Pod exploded end of story. Here is the chat log... What are you going to do? I'm going to kill them all sir

I speculate since they where both in the same corp Arriyanna has clear to attack me since I have been flagged but here is the problem, I committed no act of aggression. All I did was target the Tristan I activated no modules or weapons. I shouldn't have been flagged for any thing. 2- Why for god sakes did the station decide to play dead? This happens way too often, it seems to me that the lag caused by the combat some hows interferes with some functions of the UI. This was really cheap and I died because of faulty game mechanics. Well any ways a message to Arriyanna... What are you going to do? I'm going to kill them all sir**

Which is why I left the rest of my loot back at the station. You know I could have easily turned the tables around and be the one that decided to gank you and take back what I sold to you but I already decided I wouldn't do that. I would have let you go even if I had the opportunity to attack you freely. I don't want to ruin my name and be known as one who will back stab you after a friendly deal obviously you don't share the same scruples. I killed what I killed with no treachery and fairly with in the game mechanics and I made an honest deal with no plans of betrayal so I was trying to be honorable. Arriyanna you purchase the spoils of a fellow fallen alliance member with the full intention of attacking me after a trade. Granted this was your problem if you decide to be that way then fine I'm not going to deny myself a sale of 22.5 million for someone elses lack of principles or what ever. Then the game decides to break on me and denies me usage of some of it's functions. Well just remember this I'm the one that got the better deal out of this mess, after all I made millions and have a few more millions to make with the spoils you didn't get your grubby hands on. If I had to do it all over again you bet I would, I like making ISK :) What are you going to do? I'm going to kill them all sir

As such I don't understand why you assume the station will defend your arse? 0.0 NPC station defenses only activate if you initiate agression on the station itself, NOT on anything within its defense perimeter, at least not PC's. So I'm actually surprised that the sentries opened on the Tristan in the first place, maybe she/he smartbombed the station by mistake?
