Why are Arby heavy missile launchers so expensive? They generally go for around 14 million ISK when other Arby launchers genrally go for a few million. (I realize that Arby siege launcher may be change because of the new stealth bombers but that's only recently.) ____________________________________

Edited by: Power Sauce on 10/05/2009 22:52:17 Lots of people use them for their drakes. You'll find the XR launchers are also very expensive. Basically a lot of people haven't trained hml to V (and are paying for it).
Edit: also this is common for cruiser mods because of the low number of people running and looting lvl 3 missions.

Supply and demand at its finest. Basically, for the reason stated in the post above, demand far exceeds supply.

Cruisers (+Battlecruisers) in T1 and T2 variants are the most used ship hulls. Further a lot of people don't have Heavy Missiles to lvl V, or have fitting problems with the t2 heavy missiles, and choose to use arbies instead.

You would think that on the economics forum people might understand the basics of "supply and demand" while also understanding the basics of "knowledge is power".

Which when you think about it, is sorta a waste not to train to V, its only what... 8 days or some such? |

And meanwhile, for those 8 days might as well use arbies. You can always resell them for purchase price or so, and meanwhile you're grinding up more ISK/hour.
In fact, there's really no hurry. Might as well use them for a couple more weeks while working up missile and drone skills.

Massive oversupply. Lots of traders got stuck with a good number on hand after the nerf last summer when they had been selling for as much as 7m.

oh lol didnt know, wasnt here by that date
tbh I bought some Arbalest Heavy and theyre worth, at least compared to Malkuth ones. About 16% faster rate of fire. Theyre a good transition while you train up for T2.

The Drake is a trick to fit with T2 Heavies, CPU being the culprit. Even folks who are qualified to fit the T2's go with the Arby so they can squeeze everything else they need in, especially the T2 BCS's.

I'll give you that, getting everything to fit on the drake is a PITA unless you've topped your skills and are using rigs.
Here is the standard defacto lvl 4 drake
I guess though, if you have the skills to fly that thing.... then why aren't you in a raven already you know? |
