Ok well I am part time day trading on the Foreign exchange currency market in real life and I was pondering how I could apply my skills in eve and I worked it out. I cant say it out here in the open because someone will steal my idea but I have a good system to allow some level of short and long selling in eve and I think it will be very very good especially for high volatility items. I just need capital, I would be willing to work with a bank or trusted organisation to see my system come to fruition. It would require a rather large amount of capital, I personally dont have this amount so thats where I need a third party, also if it is succesful it could be adapted into an open corporation / org and go on open market not only through stock but to public access aswell neting I imagine a whole new market. I am posting with my main (Heliocon) and I will gurantee you my name is clean, I have never stolen or been into other nefarious activities (other then being a honest pirate) - any information required will be given. My word is my bond and I have worked hard to keep my name clean. At the same time please contact Emelia brighteyes if you are interested.

Regardless of your rl experience you're not gonna get a large amount of money as a relatively unknown and unproven player.
If you think the banks might be interested in your plan, try contacting them. Perhaps you can work out a way in which your plan can be executed and their isk stays safe (this probably involves you telling them the plan).

Im sort of fishing for the Venture capital type of investor. Also while I may be more or less unknown compared to others I am not unexperienced :) [/url] |

Your EVE name is more important than anything else in securing investment.
I've been gone for 6 months and could likely pull in an absurd amount of money if I were to play full time again and launch an IPO. I wouldn't even need to give any real details about my plan. Why? Because I've been here for years and people know I don't need to scam to make money, I make plenty on my own, thus the incentive for me to scam is greatly reduced.
A totally unknown new player could, on the other hand, have an amazing plan... if it involves that person holding lots of money it isn't gonna happen. You can, however, trust some of the well established players here to not scam you if you tell them your idea and work out an agreement with em.

Are you saying that you found a way to short sell?
One problem that I see is that if your business plan requires short selling, you are going to have a hard time convincing investors it will work, because game mechanics don't allow short selling.
What you should do is test your system with a small amount of capital (you do have a couple of hundred millions to expriment with, right?). Iron the kinks, make sure it works, and who knows maybe you will make enough ISK to not need outside investors.

I think you could execute a rough form of short selling through loan contracts, the problem is that if you offer these publicly they appear to consume 1% of the total value as a deposit, and another .4% as a broker fee. Given the small margins one would expect to make on a specific loan, it wouldn't make much sense to hang these publicly, and given the low demand and visibility losing your deposit would also be a valid concern. In conclusion, this is something a bank might offer and just post private loan contracts, but it would take a commited staff like E-bank, alongside an initial collecting of inventory to loan.

This.
More often than not, we have more fun getting people rich than making ourselves richer.
Just ask some of the random merc corps in the last 3 months that have had huge sums for seemingly random targets. |

I like Noir, but they have no shortage of customers. I go for the more esoteric outfits. |
