Eve has improved alot from what it was prior to apocrypha. The good:
a)
alot more possibilities for players to do meaningful things ingame and play the game in a lot of different ways:
- exploration is a huge profession of its own now, with endless possibilities in of itself
- low sec ratting with the introduction of battleships has finally gotten a meaning now, and is a fun and a good source of income; and is alot more appealing for many
- wh-space is a whole new space to live in for many
- its the age of sub-bs-sized ships: with the introduction of w-space, smaller-than-battleship sized ships have gotten a whole new meaning and specialized tasks
- also: with the effects of wormhole space anomalies on ships, the need to fly different ships for different wormholes (shield tanking for those wh which boost shields and armor tanking for those wh which boost armor) has also gotten a very good boost
- the stealth bomber (and to a degree the blackops) have gotten a balancing overhaul and are useful again
The bad:
- epic mission arcs still missing
- dedicated miners still have no access to dedicated mining agents or dedicated mining missions where they could spend their time in a meaningful way other than boring belt mining.
(hint hint: do the same for mining which you did for exploration. introduce mining missions which require a lot of player input and cant be done afk, and with a reasonable reward for accomplishing them)
- w-space salvage drop rates are messed up, so is t3 production, due to it. Wormhole anomalies come with to much risk vs to little reward.
The ugly:
- Planets and moons havent gotten a graphical overhaul
- same with backgrounds
- scam and isk spamming has become rampant and a plague to each and every public chat
- why are isk-cents still not showing on contracts?

a)

- carebear it up in lowsec - dont get your ship blown up
- wh-space - too many people here (whine whine)
- newbies can finally shoot **** - but die easily in wormholes
- skill intensive ships waaaaaah waaaaaah spend more money waaaaah waaaaaaah
- the stealth bomber and black ops still are rarely used
The bad:
- waaaaaah epic missions
- miners are bots - sorry it's the truth. if you mine and you aren't a bot, you're a cyborg
(hint hint: dont give macro miners a way to make even more money even quicker)
- i cry every night because i lost a ship in wh space to rats trying to salvage something WAAAAAAH WAAAAAAAAMBULANCE
The ugly:
- planets and moons look like the turd I just laid in the toilet
- im now complaining about backgrounds
- im now complaining about contract scams
- im complaining about contract scams again boo hoo

the bad - overcrowded
high sec and low sec feel like mega city these days. wish there was more space that is not 0.0

planets are due for an overhaul before we start introducing planetary interaction.
background system is undertesting but it will be a galaxy wide nebula so to stay instead of a static one in every system.
WH drop rates will be adjusted, give it time.
more missions are comming they only managed to get the foundation laied down.
I belive something is getting fixed with the contracts soon enough that will hopefully end the stupider contracts out there, leaving the clever scam ones around.

Smacktalk, which was the finest aspect of local in trade hubs, has been obliterated by spammer scammers.
Reading the insults and angry responses was kind of like watching the 3 Stooges, I'd tune in while doing a little business. I never understood the appeal of hanging outside a trade hub station for hours on end anyway, and now it seems even more senseless.
Alas, another New Eden art-form going the way of the dinosaur.......

Well, I really started to love my stealth bomber after the patch <3 That's for sure, wasn't sure if I'd want it before it. Now it really is a 'bomber', not an anti-frig ship.
And as for planets and backgrounds... The planets hurt most. You see these amazingly looking ships, stations, detailed drones... And ****, planets now got less pixels than drones... WHY? Is it so hard to make a few nice textures? The planets even aren't that bad, the populated ones with lights and such are bareable. But the moons look like a disaster.
Mining missions? Well... I'm not really interrested. I like my l4 and l5 pve missions where there is something to watch and I got to react... Sometimes.

The good:
Premium lite looks better than classic and can still run on the same machine.
The bad:
The new scanning system still sucks and is buggy as hell.
The ugly:
New player experience is now worse than ever. 94% less skills, zero direction, and a crappy Aura tutorial that hasn't been fixed at all post Apocrypha patch. Seriously, it was hard enough trying to convince friends to play EvE before the patch. Now it's impossible.
On another note, I know WH space was supposed to be the main theme of Apocrypha but it just seems like an afterthought that most players aren't interested in.

I agree with most of the OP's points, except mining which I know little about.
The rest of the features she mentions ALL apply to me, and I have experiences good or bad relating to every single one of them.
It is very apparent then, that the trolls in this thread so far are completely out of touch with the game, and haven't a clue what they are talking about.
If you are also reading this, and feel the same, would you mind posting???
I read these forums every day, and EVERY day I see the same tiny group of individuals flocking to every thread here to push their own mindless and nonsensical personal agendas. It's almost as if they've been doing it so long now it's second nature, and they seem to think their multiple personas are not completely, blatantly obvious.
As far as I am concerned, they are all the same person: The guy who wants to play Eve but is too stupid or timid to do so, unless it is changed to suit him.
It is so bad in this thread already that I was compelled to post in the vain hope I might help steer it back to fact-based discussion.
Ive been playing for over two years now, and Apocrypha was the best patch we've had since I joined. If you can't figure out how important wormholes are for example... well, you are missing a lot. I have personally made hundreds of millions since Apocrypha, exploiting those of you with infertile imaginations.
Anyway, best patch yet, and thank you OP for giving me something to read about Eve that isn't a combination of conjecture, bitterness, and "meme" (damn that is one annoying new feature of these forums).

Yeah I can agree with most of those points. Not sure about mining haven't done much of it....
Though I do think they should spice it up.... add some sort of "mini game" to it that you do xyz can get more or chance or rarer minerals I don't know. Though I think the people that like to mine like the fact that you can go afk while doing it.

It always was. Now it's just so damn easy that any alt with a few days of skill training can jump right into it.
Assuming of course, you can get past the new visual effects they introduced.
