I am looking to be able to import mineral prices from EVE-Central into Excel. The standard XML import is not that graceful with the various headings.
Is there a method to tidy this up so prices could be updated at regular intervals?
Thanks.

I don't think you can set it up automatically, not without using a programming language at least. On the spreadsheet I'm working on however you can use xml Mapping in order to limit the columns you get, I don't know what version of Excel you have though, so it could be called something else if you're not using 2007.
Either xml mapping or create a table (same thing in my eyes, although I'm not an expert just an enthusiastic hobbyist) that limits the columns you need. It'll have to be refreshed by the User manually, although there is a Refresh All button which is very useful if you have multiple xml maps.

I'm using Excel 2007 for the spreadsheet. I'll have a look at the XML mapping as I'm still adjusting from Excel 2003. If I can get the mapping working correctly it shouldn't be too much effort to write something in VBA to start a one-click update.

Edited by: Rashmika Clavain on 13/05/2009 16:46:34 The way I do it...
XML mapping... check! Macro the process of running an update (ie right clicking on each XML feed)... check! Copying and pasting macro into a VB button on your spreadsheet to update it... Done!
Amount of coding required? Zero!
I believe you can also set it to refresh automatically upon loading and then every x minutes, but I don't want to peeve off the EVE Central people by spamming their website with API calls Removed.
