OK, I just started my first invention job and I was surprise to see that we cannot queue them. That means I have to log on every 2.5 hours to start a new one. Am I missing something here ? I think that doesn't make a lot of sense. |

Do you mean....the same BPO?
Or is this with different BPOs?

Edited by: Thetes on 13/05/2009 01:28:22 I for one enjoy spending all that time clicking 5 thousand times to install 100 invention jobs a day. I mean, what better system could there be? Forced ridiculous clicking is sweet. At least allow batch install of invention/manufacturing.

That big pain in your ass from all that? That's why there's still profit in modules.
If it wasn't a pain in the ass that whole market would be overrun by now.

I'm happy to see I'm not alone to suffer. But tell me Thetes, with 100 invention jobs a day, when do you sleep?
After I finished crying I realise that what GrLePetomane says may be true to some point.
So happy clicking Everybody !

As with any other lab job you can queue 11 jobs if your skills are maxed. So saying you cant queue isn't quite true.

2.5 hours? *LOL*
Try cueing 30 jobs every 37 minutes! Or every hour and 15.
That makes for some really-can't-do-anything-else way to spend a day. And can really burn through those BPCs in a hurry (not to mention datacores).

No way ccp will let people queue invention jobs as it would then be way to easy for someone to hog all of the public slots for the next few months!

This is true if you're too cheap to set up a POS.

I don't enjoy having to go on a jihad of clicks so, when I have to do alot of inventing I do it over the period of weekend with modules.
Then I have to do a smaller jihad of clicks when I manufacture the bps.

Easy fix? Select up to five BPC's, right click, invention, choose the lab your crap is in, go through the shebang. Cuts the clicking down to about three sets per character, instead of 15 + massive scrolling.
You can already select all your jobs and deliver them at the same time, you should be able to select them all and start them up as well.

Yeah, I really wish there was a better system for this. Setting up a batch of 8-10 invention jobs, every 1hr 15min, for as many times as you can bare per day, is quite a pain in the ass.

The alternative is that they just make the jobs longer. Because if you could queue jobs in addition to the 11 you can already queue, one person could provide the entire of Eve's needs on most items. Basically, the more effort something takes to do, the more profit it is. If they made it just as easy to do 10x as much per day the profit would end up being 1/10th of what it is.
Effort = Profit.
