Best time for 0.0 sec Trade Run? I was thinking just before DT, maybe 10 or 11 EVE Time, but then I was chatting with some mates and was told that right after after DT would probably be the best. Any suggestions? (tying to avoid getting popped here you know)

I also think just after DT is the best option --------------- Visit Chip Mintago's CSM campaign site at: http://www.sevenextraeyes.org/eve/index.html |

In my experience, 0400-0800 is usually better than 1000-1300, but your mileage may vary.
The key is, who are the hostiles camping the gates, and what timezones do they operate in? A plurality of EVE players live in GMT or Central European Timezones, but there are ones in every zone around the world, and some corps are noticeably quite active around downtime - if doing nothing other than looking for fresh officer spawns.

We need details: 1. Origin and Destination System 2. Ship 3. Cargo
I think after knowing that we can probably figure out a good time.

rofl . . . sure sure, well see I will be carrying about 100 capital ship bpos in an ibis . . . I will be starting in Aldik, in the Metropolis region, and heading to Eurgrama, then into AD-5B8, to UBX-CC, TJM-JJ, and to my final destination QPOK-B where I will quickly jet can the bpos so that they can be promptly retrieved by the buyer. Does this sound like a good plan?

I think that giving this information out might defeat the purpose of the post, no? Trying not to get blown up into smithereens, you know? Good try though, valiant effort, almost got me, you know? lol

When is the best time for a 0.0 sec trade run? When you have friends/corpmates/alliancemates online to provide assistance with scouting, etc.

This.
Otherwise, I've found it best to try to run through when the servers come up since DT is not always the full hour sometimes you can catch some people napping.

Any time is good if you have a talented scout, and I don't mean your newbie alt, I mean a skilled and intelligent scout who can survive going through gates first and who can relay reliable intell. ~ Santiago Fahahrri Galactic Geographic |

The route is as critical as the time. Look at the route laid out by the autopilot and take note of where it crosses from hisec to 0.0. Then whatever you do, DON'T take that route. It is quite likely to be heavily camped 23/7.
Going right after DT is best, but campers also know that the juiciest targets try to make the run at that time. I've gotten a few very nice kills by logging in space next to a bubble and getting on right after DT.
Generally, try to find a low sec entry point to the 0.0 region and take that instead of the obvious highsec entry point. Scout the lowsec route yourself in a shuttle first to see what it's like.
Alternatively, try to cross the "border" at a region boundary. Those big region gates are so much harder to bubble and camp.

Also, be warned, sometimes the system you are in becomes active but the next system does not. So you are stuck in system at the gate with whoever else logged in but yeah right after DT is probably best.

Thanks man. The finding a better route is probably the best advice I've gotten on here and I will take that into serious consideration. My mate told me the same thing but for some reason it just didn't hit home. Thanks Darcon!

I don't normally play just after downtime, but this is an excellent point, and I've noticed it after server crashes.
Systems that haven't been visited don't load up until someone tries to enter them, during which time you're sitting on an exit gate.

You need to know who it is you are flying against, if its russians then don't do it in their prime time. If its a euro based group don't do it in their prime time, if its a US based group do it in their prime time as they will be drinking and won't catch ****.

To hell with all the advice above. You pick the time that's best for you. If someone tries to stop you, just kill them. Yes, kill them all.

you might want to consider scouting the route at a few times prior to making the trade run... see what times/days the population is like, any patterns to their activity. might also want to consider using an alt to prevent the locals from seeing you making multiple visits

Best time i find is approx 0900 - 1000 Tuesday - Thursday.... most europeans are at work/school, americans are normally asleep.
Make sure you check map for pod/ship kills and dont do it when schools are on holiday.
Hope this helps.

Thanks mate. This is what I was thinking but you broke down the reasoning in a very convincing manner. Thanks!
