Not sure which one to purchase as both are stand-alone games.
Which would you go with? Or should I just get both?
Thanks!
Also: I know Reunion doesn't have dual monitor support, but does Terran Conflict? I know back in the day X2 did if I remember correctly.

x3 terran conflict is pretty much x3 reunion with a load of fan made content bundled in and a few additions, so x3:tc then

Cool, so basically it does all the things Reunion did so well, improves upon them, and gives new content.
I think Terran Conflict is a buy then, thanks a bunch :).

Reunion is better if you're more into the storyline, It's far more gripping and complete than that in TC, but if you don't care about that and just want to fly around in big spaceships get TC

I would buy both to be honest. Reunion has a really nice storyline. Once you complete it start playing TC, the story will go on there (a bit). Also Reunion isnt that expensive anymore so it wont cost you alot more.

Edited by: me bored on 14/05/2009 15:23:03 TC has far more end game content but it's economy is crippled and it's standing system has been dumbed down for casual players. In the other X games it took months of hard work to get your first capital ship but in TC you can be stomping around the universe in one within days. |

I bought X3 Terran Conflict and I am so disappointed in the graphics. They look so unrealistic, man, I wish I could get my money back...
I can not recommend it at all

seriously, what????
You can't call the storyline of x3r "really nice"!!!!
Horrible quality videos, bad va, etc. The production quality was so bad that you just couldn't just ignore it. In my opinion the storyline was the weakest part of the game.

Yup, but be prepared to sink in a lot of time to utilize the 7 odd gigs it takes up.
I mean, days, weeks, etc.
Edit: Anyone give me any idea on what M2's are good to use? Thinking of going with the Split one, or maybe the Argon one, any suggestions?

I personally liked the Yokohama-Class the most.
The weapons are a bit hard to get and I suggest you update the game to 2.0 and stockpile weapons early, combine it with the MARS Fire Computer (a player made script) and that thing sends Fleets of Xenons and Khaak to hell. The Selection of weapons is very limited, since the Yokohama can only fit Terran weapons.
Other people like the Boreas most. A bit smaller frame and higher speed and a very broad selection of weapons, makes it a good choice.

I got myself a pair of Boreas', they're pretty damn impressive as they wield a hell of a lot of firepower for a nice compact frame, they're very good at dominating Boron Rays.
That being said! Split ships are superior!

Would it be at all possible to have X3 style twitch-based flying and shooting? or would it be far to resource heavy? It would just be awesome to truely fly an inty at 5k/sec, or unload a rack of rails in a rokh. Alhough i imagine X3 online is more likely than this, which would be almost as good.

Egosoft is such a fantastic game company. Not only do they fully encourage modding, but they will often use player-made fixes and put them into official patches.
I forgot where I was going with that paragraph because I went and played X3 for an hour.

Absolutely not! I wonder that it made its way to the shelves at all. Graphics sucks so much, I feel like playing a game with an Atari 520ST.

I cant bring myself to get another CoH game after the disaster that was opposing fronts, installation took an hour, autopatching then took another 2 hours, it required registration and installation of third party software, overall by the time I had installed it I just gave up and deleted it off my drive.

Well i am now playing TC. I honestly dont see where you are going with the "Lame Graphics" since;
99% of the time you are in first person view, so you don't see much of your own ship. (note the biggest ship i've piloted thus far is an Argon Discoverer Advanced, so bigger ships this might change.)
The planetary graphics and skyboxes are fantastic, better than eve minus wormhole space.
Good graphics ≠ Good game. ___________________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Good graphics ≠ Good game.
The bigger the ship gets typically more you can see, but it isn't much more to make visuals a pain in the ass.
Then again I find with capitals it's easier to steer in third person.
Da Death you're more than likely running a ****ty computer, X3:TC has some stunning graphics if your machine can handle it.

You cannot complain CoH with X3. That are two completely different genres and have nothing in common.
If you want to get thrown right into the Action and enjoy a fun but short game without having to read the manual, then X3:TC is not for you.

Problem with X3TC is that it isn't programed to use multiple cores, which gives my Q6600 stutters and I can't even run SETA at 10x (I don't think it's 10x at least). TC is a game that really should have been hyperthreaded because of the massive amount of CPU use, that which is only topped by RTS's.
