Contracts will now display the cost of an item in words (hundreds, thousands, millions) even if the figure is not a round number. For example, a contract for an Invulnerability Field II at 200.999.999 ISK will be displayed in word form also as 200.99 Million, much the same as if it were a round number.
Thats right lazy spam scammers, find a new scam.

The "scams" are usually just a way of undertaking RMT.
Get with the program bud. It's ISK laundering. They'll keep going because it's still about RMT and ISK laundering.

Edited by: Meatball Enema on 14/05/2009 14:45:09 You missed the important part - the spam will go away if no one falls for it.
Pretty easy to tell if a T2 mod is going for 200 mil instead of 200k, so who is going to fall for that?
I could care less about scamming - its the constant spam thats ****ing irritating.
EDIT - the patch goes online today, so if you fall for a 999 scam now, you deserve to lose your money.

How much less could you care?
And if you think this patch will put an end to spammed scams you're sadly mistaken. The next "great" scam has already been cooked up and will be coming to a local chat near you by the time you finish downloading the patch.

As opposed to before? You've always deserved to lose your money if you don't read what you're agreeing to. It's not as though something changes in the contract after it's accepted... there's usually an item and a price. Make sure it's the item you want and the price you want to pay.
Note that the "you" in this post is not directed at you, Meatball, but should be, more accurately (and tediously), "one".

Yeah, I'm just hoping it reduces the spam for the next little bit.
I'm all for creative scams, provided i'm not on the receiving end of one ;)
But that 999 **** got irritating fast.

I gotta say, when I was in Amarr today with 319 in local, there wasn't one contract scam spam! And no, I don't have anyone blocked.
Of course, as mentioned earlier in this thread, scammers will find another scam to spam, but enjoy the silence for now. :)

I have not seen many scammers in Rens local which is great. It leaves local chat very clear for me to advertise my business deals! This last patch has been really good.

lol, I was in jita earlier and the scamspam was plentiful
from "I'm the one who stole 75B worth of stuff, send me 10mil and I'll send you 100mil back" to linking wtb CNR contracts where you supply a CNR, pay 380m and get a normal raven or the usual contracts titled up faction Invuln fields really cheap but having faction thermal shields instead.
So the scammers won't die unfortunately, but at least they're a little more obvious now.
It's not often I'm wrong, apart from the comments I make in the signature, and then I'm often wrong. On the other hand maybe I'm getting confused. ......My head hurts :( |
