Edited by: Holy Smoke on 06/09/2004 13:30:02 Well im not afraid of PVP, even if i am a newbie i want to do it.
People say that Pirates only accept vets. Is this right? Because if it is im going solo robing people in my ibis.

Edited by: Hakera on 06/09/2004 13:33:05 tbh - you only need i would guess 500k skillpoints to be sufficient or a help in battle. Thats what 2-3 weeks which is long enough to get to grips with eve and get some isk in and a decent frig.
There should be some corps out there and nt necessarily a pirate one, any pvp corp will do tbh. The skills needed are the same.

Well you could get your first taste of pirating by going into pirate space uninvited and just to make sure they notice you, you could name your ship 'p1r4t3z R teh sux!'.
This will give you your first and second lesson in pirating...always have a clone, always have insurance...
Next you could go to Curse with an uninsured ship and no clone. This will give you your third lesson in pirating...Testicular fortitude.
Now all you need to do is train the right skills and buy the right equipemnt and ofcourse you need to find the right kind of victims. You can usually identify them easily by the typical purple colour and furry appearance. They also have potty mouths 90% of the time.
I suggest that you skipp extortion and go straight to podding. This will teach you another thing about pirating... Thermal resistance to carebearflames.
When you feel comfortably resistance you can move on to extortion for the next lvl of thermal hardening.
When you have done all that its time to chaingank some newbs and try on a -10 secrating for a fit. This will mean avoiding the law at all costs. This lesson is necesairy if you want to truely know what it is to be a pirate in EVE...
After you have done all this you will have a pretty good idea of what it means to be a pirate and you can then decide wether its for you or not and should you decide you like it i'm sure you will have built up the experience to join a pirate group! YARRR

It's the exact same things as what Zombie did, you may not attack in "safe-areas" (empire/within sentry range) without loosing your ship.

Edited by: Schroni on 06/09/2004 13:59:00 EDIT: dang! Miso beat me again! i guess i need to train up my forum camping skills a bit
---
well, you don't need many skillpoints to pirate. Just get yourself a Kestrel with some launchers, mwd, warp scrambler and webifier and got to <insert random low sec system here>
Just be sure to have a clone and insurance as you will most likely lose a couple of ships in the beginning (or, like in my case, everyday )...
Just don't listen to the folks who say that pirates are evil and the scum of EVE, its just a game after all and if you want to be a pirate, then go ahead
Feel free to contact me in game if you have any questions, and have fun out there

No no no, pirates are the sum of EVE, but that's a good thing. Every game needs a bad guy and EVE wouldn't be anywhere near as challenging and fun without 'em. Pirates, i salute you! Dirty scum that you are!

Actually you should listen to them Pirates are scum and ebil! Very Ebil!
Real Pirates take pride in being evil, flamming carebears whining about them losing their ship because they couldnt pay the ransom is one the funniest things around. ---------------------------

If this world was supposed to be friendly CCP wouldnt have wasted time paying the devs to code so many weapons |

Though it isn't fun to loose a ship to pirates, or get podded by them, i quite agree with that statement :)

"Do you have the pirate hat and eyepatch?"

"The long and short of it is that this game, or any game, is either going to be a kindergarten where it's safe and cuddly and secure and you can play with plush tigers, or it will be a harsh place, harsh but interesting and interesting because harsh, where you must take risks to succeed and so must everyone, since victory is tasteless without danger." - Raivn Akhama

Is there honor among pirates? I figure the way pirates would work is the stronger would just naturally pick on the weaker for kicks and giggles. If this is not the case, how do they treat each other?

So thats why I'm in evol again
Anyway, id join AC and learn the ropes and lose a few ships and kill a few ships before you join the likes of m0o or other hardcore player corporations.
This is not a hijack
