i am wondering what is best:
one would think that flying lvl 4 missions would improve your standings faster than lvl 4 missions...but i have been told that ur standing raises at about the same speed...
question is... is it true?
also how many missions of that lvl does it take to raise standing to... say 1.0 or to 5.0 or even 8.0 for a corp? using a 18 standing agent at base skills(since i know someone will ask)
also how many missions for that same agent to raise standing 1.0for a faction?
if anyone can state this better, please do, i am not good with words lol
does anyone know?

Dont know exactly how fast it goes, but as standings too a faction increase by doing story line missions. Its faster too do lvl 2-3 missions, and thereby getting those faster..But if your not alone it could be better isk wise too do lvl 4..Not sure if a lvl 4 story line gives better standing boost than a lvl 3...

Edited by: Bossa Nova on 17/05/2009 15:38:00 I certainly dont have it down to a science, but I can give some insight on what it took me. My Caldari State standings are at 6+. Starting as a new mission runner from lvl 1's to lvl 3's it took somewhere around 30 to 35 story line missions to get there. Once I got to lvl 3 I just ran those instead of moving to lvl 4. I did somewhere around 25 lvl 3 story lines. I picked a high sec system that had two level 3 agents and went at it. Its a horrible experience really.... hope I never have to do it again. Story lines come every 16 missions. Hope it helps.
Edit* I didnt do any Cosmos or use any data centers. Both were suggested to speed things up a bit, but I just bypassed it. If I had to do it over I would seriously consider this tho lol.

Alot has to do whit luck also, meaning what story lines you get..Some are a little longer but gives a good boost..Did one recently from lvl 2 agent, was a 4 stage storyline that gave my standing down from -0,73 to -0,37..Next one was a short one and only gave me 0,04...So yaa luck has a part in it to.

Can get up to 8.75% standing improvement (lvl 5 social trained) from lvl 4 storylines. Everytime I hear how much its better to run lvl 2's and 3's I think idiot.
The ones saying do lvl 2's and 3's must be comparing materials for war prep. On the lvl 4 this has had its completion time reduced to like 12 minutes for the bonus, ie mininum while the lvl 2's and 3's allow much longer so comparitively much more possible standing for a lvl 2/3 than the mininum for materials for war prep 4. But if you get one of the full 8.75% standing increases from a lvl 4 this is about 2x better than possible in a lvl 3 and about 4x that of a lvl 2. If you do the lvl 2/3 materials for war prep in the normal 30 sec completion times (ore in the dock when accept mission) then the completion times will reduce towards like 12 minutes, ie less return from lvl 2/3 storylines. You dont get just materials for war prep storylines. Compare the kidnappers lvl 3 storyline - it has 10 parts in which time you could probably have done about 10 lvl 4 missions, ie two thirds the way towards another lvl 4 storyline!
Basically it takes 16 mission to get to your next storyline. If you pick an agent which you can complete missiosn quickly with then it doesn't take long to get your next storyline even with level 4's. including r&d/courier missions etc my best has been 13 lvl 4's completed in 90 minutes. Could I run lvl 3's quicker? Yes, but not much quicker and the resultign standing of the lvl 4 storylines are much better.
When it takes me longer then I'm generally earning isk. Even turning over missions that quickly without collecting bounties I'm collecting good lp with my amarr agent.
I decided to raise my min standing with a character which had about -1 min standing at the time. In under 3 hours I was into lvl 4 agents with a min corp I had not missioned with before. I just blitzed and moved onto the next agent as soon as had the standings for the next level higher. Now as long as I keep my min standing above -2.0 I can keep it there with the odd flurry of min lvl 4's.
