im having the same problem. successful patch, still reads incompatible protocol. ever since the new expansion its been one problem after another. comeon CCP, you should really have the game working BEFORE you deploy it. we all have paid for this game, and i dont like burning up my PAID time waiting for you guys to fix errors.

Patcher said it patched successfully, but I get an Incompatible protocol error on the start screen.

People on 88737 cannot currently patch to 88974(live).
CCP please fix this as you only offer a 88517 to 88974 patch.
And I do not want to download a full installer for a 3MB patch.
Please offer a 88737 -> 88974 patch!

Add one more to the list, only I have the problem on 2 separate Eve installs. The first is set to max grpahics, the second is set to minimal and they both now get the incompatible protocol after the latest patch.

I too am having the same problem. Though I'm not sure of everyone else;
I downloaded the patch while the server was offline (Logged in early this morning to play, found out it was down time.) Then went to play when the server was online again.
Is this the issue? Is there anyone who has logged online successfully?
EDIT: On the off chance that someone who was just online a few seconds ago is stalking this forum xD

Same issue.
Reported patched to latest build, game client gives 6.12.88737 as version, but login screen has "incompatible (protocol)" and refuses login attempt. Saw this same version about the Trinity 1.0.2 patch, so I tried deleting the CCP\EVE folder out of my local documents. All that did (that I could see) was revert my video settings back to default.
Got confused at manual download page because of my "current" version. May try using the next latest build to patch from and see if that works.

Comon CCP, talk about issues, why role out a product that is full of holes. I doubt we see reimbursements for all the time we spend waiting for fixes to happen, or playing an unstable game that degrades our gaming experience in the times the server is actually up.

Good god, 16 minutes since the patch *should* have been deployed and some of the responses in this thread beggar belief.
I have the same issue but you're not going to see me whinge like some of the people in here. Yes, there's a problem but it will be fixed.

Thank you to CCP for continually looking at ways to make the EVE experience more awesome...
at least, I think that's what everyone is trying to say.
I too have the incompatible build error, and I too will be ****ed at spending another 4G of my bandwidth over a 3Mb patch.
But seriously, take your demands, roll them up and smoke them. Do any of you have any idea at all what it must be like coding for PC? So many different systems, drivers, speeds, capabilities... then consider that their paying public screams for updates and new content...
do you honestly think that it's going to work perfectly for 100% of players 100% of the time? What is it with this day and age that demands absolute perfection because that's what they've paid money for? Absolute perfection doesn't exist, it's no bloody wonder people whinge about CCP not talking to their subscribers openly and honestly... if all I got was pages of abuse I'd tell you to foad too.
On another note: hurry up and fix it so I can blow things up, kthx

well, consider the history ppl, we pay for time on this game, and i vividly remember an expansion that had the game down for almost a week. there should have absolutely been reimbursement for that. i petitioned and CCP told me that they DO NOT and WILL NEVER reimburse game time over client issues. every patch and expansion that hits the game has a number of issues that either corrupt game play or put the game down all together. sometimes for days at a time. so who cares if my hard earned money is wasted right? seems to me that the ppl that dont get ****ed about corrupt clients are the teenagers sitting in mommy and daddys office playing with money that they didnt work for are probably the ones that dont care if the money is wasted or not.
