Earlier I sometimes ( before patch 1077 ), just for the fun of it, attacked some convoys. Now I saw the current patch notes for patch 1077, it says : "If a player loses security status within range of certain sentry guns then they will attack that player at the earliest opportunity" ( from the current patch notes )
What does this mean ? Can't I attack NPC convoys 50km away from the nearest sentry gun with out getting shut at if I get closer to the sentry guns or what ? Have anybody done any NPC convoy attacking sinse 1077 ?

Lets say you do it at safe distence like 100Km, can you dock at the station right after ?

The security status refers to the standing you might have with not only the Sovreignity of the system your are in (eg, the Caldari might like or dislike you) but also tha standing you have with either, 1) the corp of the ships you are attacking, or 2) the corp of the station you are attacking outside of.
Complicated stuff, I know, but it's still all doable about 55-60 km from the the station. And yes, you can dock there afterwards.
Me and my partner in crime hit an NCP convoy last Monday and let's just say we hit the jackpot...

Just dont blow up too many convs. . .
Amarr navy usually get pretty ****ed...
My CEO got a Amarr Navy General on his ass, who blew his rupture up...
But sometimes you get good stuff from the convs.
We received 30 Cargo exp. and 10 Reactor Controls

Mate of mine had police trapping him in a station after taking out a convoy... from the convoy he recieved (wait for it...) 20 small ion cannons!!112
Yes... definatley worth 3 hours of playing cat and mouse with copppers :/
I'd be more interested in hitting pirate convoys out in 0.0 Space - indeed u will still have the sentry gun issues, but at least you won't have police shooting at u for destroying a convoy and recieving lots of crap guns and ammo.
