"Security status, or lack thereof, can have a big impact on your ability to travel through the EVE universe.
Here is a brief list of your travelling options according to security status:
Players with -1.5 or greater can enter all systems
Players with -2.0 or worse cannot enter 1.0 systems
Players with -2.5 or worse cannot enter 0.9 systems
Players with -3.0 or worse cannot enter 0.8 systems
Players with -3.5 or worse cannot enter 0.7 systems
Players with -4.0 or worse cannot enter 0.6 systems
Players with -4.5 or worse cannot enter 0.5 systems
Once your security status reaches -5 you are considered an outlaw and can be attacked by players anywhere without CONCORD intervention.
Players with negative ratings can fly through all systems in an Escape Pod, as CONCORD are not quite ruthless enough to attack pods, but if your rating is -5.0 or below then you are easy pickings, as anyone can target and destroy your pod without repercussion. "
Just found this after i lost my Raven to concorde swat teams at a gate in Yulai because of my -3 sec status. I couldnt find any of this info on this website ... would have been very helpful about 30mins ago.
STICKY!!!

So, you have been blowing up stuff, getting a negative security status, and were not aware of the repercussions of your actions until after the fact?
Those sec stats have been posted here in the forums before, seen them several times myself.
Edit: Also, if you do a search in the knowledge base located to your left, insert "security status" and hit search. Number three down on the info lists exactly what you just posted, already here on the eve-online website - Bunny is not currently here. He is on a SpecOps mission to kill the leader of a small third world country, the first step on the road to world domination. |

i dont read FAQ's as normaally they're full of useless crap. In this case however they have useful info. I still think it would be a good idea to have sec details made sticky on forums.
How many ppl can honestly say theyve read the FAQ's compared to how much they visit the forums?

Just want to make sure I understand the purpose of the post.
Couple of days ago you decide to turn into a pirate. You convo a indy, then while waiting for the guy to respond to the convo, you blow him up with your Thron. The pure thrill and joy of blasting an indy with your battleship confirms that you are ready to tackle the most difficult professions in Eve.
Now it appears you have tooled around and shot some more stuff and your security rating has dropped. You fly into secure space and get popped by Concord.
Then, you make a post about how the security status impacts your ability to travel. Couple of helpful peeps point out that you could have found it by reading the FAQ or by running a simple search.
You respond with 'i dont read FAQ's [sic]' and 'a good idea ... made a sticky on forums. [sic]' Which is kindly pointed out that it is a sticky, on the forums, in "Crime and Punishment", the forum for ...... wait for it ...... Pirates.
Nice work detective.
As an aside, most every thread debating the pros/cons of pirating points out the fact that the loss of security status excludes those that choose that playstyle cannot access the better trading areas in Eve (i.e. Yulai)

I didnt think the "im a flaming ****" skill had been released yet? You seem to have level 5 in it.
My eyes could be absolutely awful, but i dont see a sticky in the crime and punishment forum about sec status and where you can/cant travel. If someone could be so kind as to give me a direct url i will apologise for making this pointless thread.
Thank u
