Is there a valid reason to use either Scimitar or Oneiros ?
Imho they're a bit useless compared to the Basilisk or Guardian in a fleet with > 2 logistic ships.
So any thoughts on how you can fit a Scimitar and do a decent job at supporting a fleet ?

Yes 2 Guardians of Basilisks are much better than a pair of Scimitars and Oneiros but for a small gang single Scimitar is much better than single Basilisk.

Scimitar can be set up to perma run 3 LSTs and a MWD. They are faster, more agile and have more even base resists than the Basilisk.
They are perfect for Sniper Hac gangs.
Oneiros is pretty awesome too.
It entirely depends on your gang composition. If you are in a large heavy gang and can afford dedicated logistics take the Guardian and/or Basilisk.
If you're running a smaller gang and people need to wear two hats (scimitar and oneiros can tackle in a pinch, scimi has no dramas fitting a probe launcher).

Scimitar
- Very fast, even with an 10mn AB, perhaps the fastest non-Stabber hulled Cruiser in the game - yes, still Minmatar!
- Much faster align than plated logistics, featuring more than decent buffer tank, good omni-resists and the smallest sig radius around (for a cruiser)...
- Can be full or nearly cap stable running MWD + 2-3 Large Shield Transporters, definately stable with AB
- The Decent drone bay + speed + ability to fit 2 Large Shield reppers, along with MWD + tackle + (u name it) made the Scimitar a popular roaming ship in the past - and not just for repping.
BUT...as almost all Logistic ships, the Scimi is very specialized, and all of the above are barely usable unless you have Logistics IV, with Logistics V almost a must-have for it to prove itself (along with nearly perfect cap skills, good navigation etc, but that's true for all ships in it's class).

Seconding the small gang support role of the Scimitar.
However, there is no reason to ever use an Onerios over a Guardian.

Thirding the awesomeness that is scimitar. Scimitar is the ninja of logistics.
Basilisk is mostly useful if you're not going anywhere.

You can fit two medium turrets and a light assault launcher on a Scimitar, along with tackle, tank, and an expanded probe launcher. Use it to destroy safespotted frigates and newb cruisers. Committing such a ship to battle ensures that at least someone is going home with a lolmail.

scimitars are easily the best logistics ships for roaming gangs, due largely to their speed and frigate-sized sig radius.

with mwd and 3 Lrr its also can perma run all modules
