EVE Online Apocrypha 1.2.3 deployment is now live and Tranquility is open for business. This deployment focuses on a critical fix that was having an effect on players jumping through stargates along with some other fixes.
We would appreciate hearing your feedback which can be posted in this thread. Please note that this is for general feedback, not issues or bugs. A separate thread for issues is available here.

I'm running Eve on Win Vista Business 64-bit. The dialog says I should reinstall the client but since everything was running fine I don't want to have to setup all windows and options again :(

Warp disrupt bubbles no longer pull ships out of warp. We tested this several times. You still cannot warp out of the bubble, but bubbles no longer pull ships in warp into the bubble. We were able to warp to a bubbled gate at various ranges and land at those ranges, nowhere near the warp disrupt bubble

Edited by: Halsoy on 26/05/2009 16:04:13 Ok, here we go. This post is not gonna be 100% feedback, move it if you have to CCP, the reason why it's going up here is because I assume that you will watch a thread you created yourself a bit closer than other random threads.
I will start by saying, could you please take a second to respond to the concerned voices in here? This forum is mostly created for us (the players) to give you (the devs) hints, smack, salutes, curses and all sorts of positive and negative statements, in general summed up as "Feedback".
Now, apart from the fact that you totally and utterly ignored repeated warnings about putting the current EvE (let me rephrase that, the EvE before todays DT) live, you did it anyway. What's the result? You basicly made a living Hell for yourself. Never have I seen so much collective and emotional hatred put towards a group of individuals that has a product that's all about pleasing people. The utter low was when you released "we have a fix, just wait 5 days first". That did not suit well with our little online pixeled community. Do you want to know why? The way it was put, you might has well have posted "Well, we see you'r emoraging in here, but tell you what, we don't f'in care, we have a fix but we're making you wait to flame som more so we can lol@ur face".
The first thing you want to do when posting like that, say "we have recocnized the problem, we are currently working on a fix, but extensive testing is required due to the issue at hand, and to make sure we don't do the same mistake twice". Now, some will say that "they we're doing that over the weekend, it's given, they don't have to write that". In general, true, however when you do it just before a holiday weekend, imagine the red going up in peoples eyes when they can't enjoy the game they so wanted to spend some of those days of playing.
Now, I have experience first hand on having to work when I dodn't want to. I used to work with fresh water supply as an automatics engineer, and at my birthday, aswell as my 1 year annivercary with my GF at the time, on a saturday, I had to work 18 hours extra, after my original shift, to get a plant up and running again. It wasn't crucial, cause we had 2 others filling it's void at the time, but some things just have to get done, no matter the cost. This very patch was, and still is such a case.
On our own forum, there are people complaining, others telling them to stfu and quit. Now, over the last week, some have done that. And I quote: Quote: Unfortunately I know of 7 different people (27 accounts) that have cancelled in the past few weeks, specifically due to the most recent patch issues, and not liking the direction that CCP is taking the game - namely less individual pilot skill, more requirement to blob.
This is what happens when you are not adjusting, nor changing, but straight out destroying the game. I know, new content and all is fun and well. But please, please... For once, take one step back, take a deep breath. When you've done so, let the air flowing out contain the following words: "We are truly sorry. We did not inted this to happen. Coding a came as complex as EVE is really, really hard. However, that is not an excuse when an error at the level that just occured takes pressence. We will improve ourself in the future, and take a much closer look at all the feedback you players give us, because you are the single best QA tool we have. We will also focus more on fixing existing issues and bugs rather than adding new content for a while. This means that nice upcomming features as the Ambulation engine will have to be pushed back, but we hope you can understand that. Thank you for your patience through these hard times, we do appriciate it."
Now, let me finish this by saying this:
EVE is hands down the most fun and entertaining game I've ever played. But, and this is a big BUT! - you are currently destroying it for a lot of people that do not love 1k fleetfights and/or mission grinding.

I'm one of the people Halsoy is talking about.
My roommates and myself, a total of 5 accounts, cancelled our accounts over the weekend. CCP your direction since the speed nerf has been simply terrible. As Halsoy points out, you are trending to needing MOAR people to do anything in game and your little patch problems were the straw the broke the camel's back.
I'll be taking my gaming money to someone else because you don't seem to feel that communication and the original priciples of the game are important.

Well, I have only one problem right now: When I stack things, every few times something seems to be misplaced. Only a session change (relog or undock/dock) can repair that. And no, it's not reproducable... --- "Multiple exclamation marks are a sure sign for a diseased mind." -Terry Pratchett |

This makes me very sad. Gut and his buddies are some of the best guys I've come across in EVE, both in terms of gameplay and just who they are.

Cry me a river. Plenty of pew pew was going on even when the game was bugged.
Could CCP have done more to fix the problems faster? probably...is that reason to leave? lol NO

When Apocrypha 1.2 came out I was happy because the severe lag I'd have in station was gone! (the lag could be circumvented by pulling the Star Map up though).
But with 1.2.3 it's BACK!
Could someone look into this and tell me why I keep getting ridiculous amounts of lag every time I go into a station?
Btw:
-Station Environment is turned off. -My computer handles EVE perfectly fine with all the gfx at HIGH.

well patch seems to work as it should, but with the general way eve is evolvinh to, i must agree, its not so much fun to play eve anymore than it was in the past, but i think it has to do with the fact that ccp wants to make it harder for isk grinders and sellers in eve, but dont you see you kill the fun playing eve ? better you limit the amount of plex a player can make and buy, that should be work much better than make it 100 % harder for a normal player not farming x missions at the same time at x agents to make isk. that sucks because there are much players here in eve that would not come to the idea to waste their isk into buying plexes, i am everything else than rich in rl, but even me invest my iskm ingame into ingame, means inside eve into projects or buying ships, but with heavily reduced income about isk you ruin my gameplay pretty much ?

Latency was very bad tonight. I was in systems with 40 to 60 people in local and everything I did was very sluggish. Trading about 50 items between characters was in slow motion. Opening an agent window would take 3 to 5 seconds. In space the same way. Try to lock a ship for a few seconds only to find out it was just destroyed and hadn't spawned a wreck yet.

To be honest, I never had any kind of the problems, which were fixed with the patch.
The reprocessing window seems to work well now.
I play under linux/wine and never had any lock-up while jumping. Because of the virtual desktops I never have to alt+tab or switch to window mode.
At least it made some of my corpmates happy.

possibly mentioned before, i didn't search...
remove the session timer, or reduce the amount of time to be passed. ever went into a store that was "empty" and you grabbed your things, paid and left in virtually no time? I can't really enjoy the flow of the ideas i come accross when un/docking changing ships etc. everytime there's that 30 secs. to wait up... imagine you'd have to wait xx seconds after entering your real garage, to change from a car onto a bike. ridiculous.
thx for reading.

Game crashed 3 times in 1 hour. Once while trying to go thru a gate and the other times while mining. Befor the new patch I did not have crash problems.

I don't know if it was intended or not, but before this patch lately it was taking 1-3 minutes from the point I click on a character portrait and when I could see the station. That seems to have been resolved now.

Edited by: Asgard Shadow on 28/05/2009 12:18:25 Edited by: Asgard Shadow on 28/05/2009 12:17:55 I was one of the lucky ones who never actually had the stargate problem. I did crash out to the desktop once, but not at a Stargate.
The issues I have - which do seem to be since the latest patch - are that when I click on an item and choose 'sell this item' it takes several seconds for the pop-up box to fill. It sits there until then as a black rectangle. It never did that before the latest patch AFAIK. The second issue is that some of my windows still take over the window which is already open, even with that option turned off in the settings. This happens particularly if I open 'Market' with 'Character Settings' already open, or vice versa. This is annoying, partly because I wanted both windows open and partly because 'Market' needs to be a lot larger than 'Character Settings'.
FWIW, the 3-hour Downtime was a pain, especially as I was on holiday at the time. However, I accept that there is no good time to apply a patch. The idea of announcing you had a fix and then waiting 5 days before applying it was not good PR. The 'this will need extensive testing first' approach would have seemed more acceptable to those being caught by the bug.
Incidentally, I now have 4 paid accounts on EVE, with a total of 11 characters - so you must be getting something right.
Looking forward to the Walking in Stations - hope it runs on my iMac.

The lock when passing trough stargates are fixed, thank you.
The problem when the graphics go haywire replacing symbols with other ones from the library and using wrong graphical elements in space is back with a vengeance and happens very frequently now.
