if there is one ship that should kill a curse (or not be scared of one solo) is a drake.
You missiles v his drones.. Not a problem

so once his drones are gone (i premsume any dmg type will suffice for this job), do i stick with kin cause of the dmg bonus? em seems to work well with shield tanked curses, and exp for those armour tanked pilgrims. am i along the right lines? is this seems to be the normal tanking methods of these two ships,

Use EM on curse. Never ever use explosive against any amarr t2 ship.

Honestly, if you can't tank his drones long enough for your HAM's to kill him and/or chase him off you're doing something very wrong.

Keep in mind that against a good curse the drake will be dry, so mwding and webbing it might be issue. That's why hams are less than optimal for use against it, since even javelins won't reliably reach it. It is really hard to actually KILL a curse solo. Of course, most people will be making mistakes and curses do die, but for 1vs1 against a good pilot you might be happy to just chase it off, which isnt all that hard to do with drake.

ty for the input. my hams do do a good job on his shields, but ive always wondered whether to primary his drones, or him. this is cause sometimes, he's been out of the normal 24k distruptor range and yet still had hold of me, and in those cases, its tough to hit him with hams.
well maybe i should train for a curse too :P

If he's scramming you past 24k he's overheating his mods. If you can't hit him past that distance load Javelins or fit HML's. If you want, sic your drones on his, he'll probably recall them each time you do, but that's what you want.

HML Drake will do it laughably easy.

True, unless he's got a faction point on it. Sometimes they have those, so they can hang around outside of Heavy Neut range.

My rook will send a curse packing every time. The only problem is that he's so much faster that you cant keep him there long enough to kill him :(

It's always a bitter moment when something gets nerfed. Not because CCP decided something genuinely needed an adjustment, but because somewhere some whiner is g |

The curse is typically speed/range tanked. The best method for killing stuff with it is to hang out at 20-30km (faction point helps) and let your drones slowly plink away at whatever. It's safe in that it's next to impossible for anyone to burn towards you, use turrets or point you back. That said it has some major weaknesses. First of all, it has basically no tank. A typical curse setup with 2 LSE II's will have about 20-21k EHP with no real recharge or resistance. EM/Therm damage will destroy the shields very quickly.
Drones are another weakness, the curse has plenty of drones so killing his won't do you any good as he can send up to 3 waves of mediums at you. But you can send your own drones at him. 5x lights will make a curse laugh but 5x well skilled hammerhead II's hurt. Combined with EM missiles, you should be able to force a curse to retreat very quickly.

I got tackled in my raven coming thru a gate by this guy's friend in a ishkur, a friend came in and we inflated his sense of false security by wasting alot of time on the ishkur. Made him warp off to drop the lock and I cleared the raven out to gen some cap back while the drake kept a point on the curse, warped back in with launchers spitting just in time to watch him shat himself :p

Wait til he tries to catch a drake, then bring in a raven. Both ships on that kill were ratting fit and neither one even had a point.

Yes, repost a terrible killmail already posted once. You're pretty smart, aren't you?

Wow. A video showing you killing a Curse that is fighting someone else and is also a terrible pilot for letting you get in range. You're a bit daft. ___________________

FAST SHIP + PASSIVE TANK + CAPLESS WEAPONS + WARP SCRAMBLER II
Scrambler takes very little cap to run. Overheat MWD as engagement starts and approach curse. Sit on curse's face. Spam scrambler whenever it goes down.
A curse pilot aligned and spamming warp can get out. Some curses don't do this. You could theoretically bump them to make it harder to warp out but I haven't found that neccesary.

hmm, well, this worked with me, but ive engaged a curse on three seperate occasions whilst in a Myrm and each time i sent him scampering away with strucutre damage, because im not going to lie, while i did damage him quite alot, he always had my cap killed and i couldnt keep the point on him
so if your in gallente ships or cap dependent ships, cap injection is a good way to go (at least with BC and up sized ships), reason being: your carrying 'artificial' cap, whilest he's neuting you and using his own cap in the process, you get an automatic 800 more without having to wait for yours to recharge
My Example: Myrm with cap injection, if you have even one more wingmate he's toast
