OK, mini whine about the performance of Eve Client.
Minimum Requirements for Eve Client, memory wise are 256mb RAM, recommended is 512mb RAM.
Now i run my PC with 512mb of DDR RAM, and all my other computer specs exceed the recommended. Yet the longer you play the game, the worse game performance gets. As most know this is due to a memory leak in the client software (or so im told), and its kinda annoying to have to restart the client every hour or so. So when are CCP gonna sort this ? is this being included in the improvements to the GUI etc coming in shiva ? Would be nice to know.

I have 256MB of RAM in my system, I do need to restart occasionally to get performance back, but it is more like every 3 or 4 hours ... perhaps the activity one is doing has something to do with it? I'm typically running kill missions for agents, as an example, so I am doing a lot of zoning between systems and NPC combat, but little to no PvP or market activity. |

I run with 768 megs and have to reboot once a day on long play sessions (after about 6 hours of play). During the week when I never play for more than 2-4hours I never have to reboot.
My laptop on the otherhand where I run my second acct from needs to be rebooted every 2-3 hours though it only has 384 megs of ram and like a 1.2ghz processor (though I blame it more on my lame intel chpset...it's yucky)

Look up for a utility called memturbo, can help re-order the data on your ram to save up space (sounds familiar? ram defrag...hehe) Other than that, you'll have to use some of your buying potential

Well I've never had any issues with a memory bug...but then again with the CTD's, stuck bug, black screen bug, ship and stuff disappearing bug etc I reboot fairly often anyway.

Well i don't see why i should have to buy more RAM when the recommended requirements of this game are 512, they should just fix the crappy programming of their client software, do you not agree ? --------------------------------------------

You are right in what your saying but on the other hand ram is ridiculously cheap at the moment so i think you should just upgrade to be honest.

TBH, I've seen worse memory leaks from Microsoft products. All it takes is 1 improperly destroyed object in what? hundreds of thousands of lines of code?
