Ok, so we had a crash friday evening and one race could not be initiated.
my question is: will this affect the other races?

I have posted notice about this here. Due to the hardware difficulties Tranquility is currently going through, we have been advised by the server people to postpone any events until such time as the cluster is likely to stay up. Rather than go ahead with tonight's races and having the whole thing potentially crash on us, we'll wait until we have adequate stability.
The qualifier schedule page will be updated tomorrow, once we've worked out the best way to wrangle things back into shape while minimizing the inconvenience for you guys.

The reason I ask is that I have pretty much planned on the timeslot I've gotten (which is tomorrow) and if CCP fubars this for me it basically means that they are eliminating me due to their own hardware problems.
If that happens I'd consider it very bad customer service.
If not, then my apologies for this reply

The optimal solution is to have as few people moving their timeslots as possible. you do this by putting the races that are postponed to the back of the list, this way they can negotiate with non-raced runners for timeslots and they'll have as much possible time to do so. This will also ensure that the runners who are not affected by the unexpected DT will not have to move slots.

I'd also like to know if tomorrow's race will still go ahead, as then I'd be able to go ahead with determining the odds for that race, since I've had to cancel the odds for tonight's race due to the race cancellation...
I also had to go through a three-way changeover to get my qualifier position for Matt Ivresse, and it would be a pain in the buttock to have to sort that out again...

Tonight's races will go ahead as scheduled.
Yesterday's qualifiers have been moved to Monday, October 4th and Tuesday, October 5th. The updated schedule can be found here. The rest of the schedule is completely unchanged.
We decided this would be the best way to go as we didn't want to shake up the schedule any worse than it needs to be shaken up. Those of you who were scheduled to race yesterday thus now have more time to buff up your skills for the occasion.
