Wow a lot of people told me it was impossible but I did it and there is still room for improvement.
My next goal is to break 30 seconds but I donÆt think I can do that without getting my hands on some tech II low power slot modules like Shield Flux Coil IIÆ and Shield Power Relay II. Flux CoilÆs are what I use to get as low as possible for fun. Relays are what you have to use in combat if you go down this path.
As everyone always asks what ship I use well itÆs a Iteron V though I do plan to at some point train up Battleship skill and see how low I can get the shield recharge on those. A Dominix should be interesting with its higher base recharge but extra low slots over a Iteron.
I still need 1 Shield Recharger tech II and am offering 10 million. Hopefully this will put me on 38 or 39 seconds.
Anyone got information on Shield Flux Coil IIÆ and Shield Power Relay II and any idea when they are coming out?

For kicks one day...quite a few patches ago, I put shield rechargers and extenders on a scorp. As many as I could fit.
10k+ shields with a 200sec recharge. It still sucked. A Mission spawn of 2 cruisers still was able to get my shields down before I killed them.

But 40 seconds is pretty impressive nonetheless.

This is a little of topic i guess but still
I used to put X-large shield extenders on my megathron (put my Thron up over 6500 shield) i ran into a Joker PvP and he fired upon me (scared the **** out of me) however with my large shield he did not seam to hit me (he did large Damege but my shields barely went down) and gave up trying to fight me (lucky for me i suck at PvP )
anyway i was always told that the tactical shield was better then the expanders (i hate them as you have to turn them on) cause they block the damege but i always prefered the expanders over the tactical
with that said though the expanders would need some real loving for them to be as popular as the Tactical
Thank You Paw Sandberg

The best combat setup was using shield relays not shield fluxÆs and using at least 1 shield extender which bumps up the xxx shields points per second and gives you shields around cruiser level. ThatÆs good for frigate hunting your practically invincible 1v1 against an NPC sometimes 2v1 or more. Now stick 1 weapon and 1 smart bomb on and if some frigate thinks youÆre an easy target while youÆre hauling they have a nasty surprise. Though player pirates usually managed to run away before I do any real damage. Same for NPC rats they shoot donÆt hurt me then run so I cannot go hunt them.
Someone told me shield recharge is none linear which I kind of noticed. The last 10% takes a lot longer then going from say 50 to 60%. Anyone else notice that and anyone know how it works?
Also what I found interesting was 1 flux modules is useful in that it improves the shied points per second. ItÆs only when you add 3+ that the shield points per second go down. Also alternately you could take out 1 shield recharger and put in a booster. Now thatÆs nasty a boost and a high passive charge.

39 seconds now thanks to Bschroe5 selling me the last modules I needed. Not much else I can do untill tech II flux or relays come out. Anyone else got more ideas to lower the charge rate? _________________________________________________ Gallente defensive innovation comes from unexpected source. |

Well this proves that shields are none linear.
1 rat got me down slower to 99.1 at the point the recharge speed matched damage and the shields stabilised at 99.1%
3 rats got me down to 96% fast after a while it dropped to 95% sometimes dropping to 94 but soon making its way back to 96 so it practically stabilised at 95%.
I guess shield recharge is none linear. I wonder if it could be a benefit to get a faster rate at the expanse to cap. Got to test.

After lowering my shield cap massively by using flux deviceÆs which boosted my shields charge rate from 60 seconds to 39. I went back to the same 3 rats. The shields dropped fast to 80% then hold steady but after 1 minuet it suddenly dropped to 70% I guess one got a critical hit. Shields now holding steady at 74% jumping between 70 to 79 when ever it goes below 70 it fast get back to 74% fast. Been like that for a while now so time to warp out.
Its nice watching your shields go up that fast after combat stops to.

Not to sure how many people are interested but I got my Battleship and got its shields down to a 101 second recharge. Below 101 if I use two more flux modules. Without flux its around 130 to 160seconds and has a passive recharge faster then a large booster.
The draw back is the cap recharge is very slow. But you donÆt need to use cap on boosters.
The best setup so far from a shield per second point of view had a cap recharger of over 6000 seconds, far to low to be usefull. _________________________________________________ Gallente defensive innovation comes from unexpected source. |
