IMO they way to balance battle ships (and the crusier class maybe) would be to increase the primary skill bonus on the other races bs's to the level of amarr (primary = the 1st skill listed s they stand atm) i.e. 10% this would give.. amarr 10% per lvl less cap for lasers caldari 10% per lvl missile speed gallante 10% per lvl dmg minimar 10% per lvl rate of fire and would mean... 1) projectiles the damage over time similar to lasers 2) the extra missile speed caldari's aught to have 3) the damage a gallante bs deserves this would also increase the amount of people using the weapon that the ship was designed for. if u look closely at this it makes sence IMO minimar pilots r always complaining that their guns don't do the damage of lasers ... but they dont won't the cap that they use either. caldari r missile specialist .. yet missiles r a realy slow weapon compared to the others gallante guns should have more dmg as they use cap (as much as lasers do now !!!) and still have to use ammo !! and yet do a similar dmg these skill bonus changes would answer all of those probs and make every one happy (apart from amarr pilots .. but they all ready got their primary bonus to 10%)

Your suggestions to "balance" are hideously "unbalanced". Amarr and Caldari get next to nothing in your idea and Gallente and Minmatar get an enormous boost...
I'd like to see a little more detail in your DOT calculations (if you even did any).
BTW I did like ur Ace Rimmer quote

Maybe if the programmers get really drunk...they'll give Gallente BS bonus of 50% dmg. per lvl and make all the amarrians slaves to the minmatars  Servent of The Scordite Gods |

Amarr get the 10% to cap, and Caldari get the 10% to missile speed. afaik TomB said the 5% they get it a typo and that its 10% already.
Oh and yes, it would majorly unbalance it.

The 10% and 5% thing is there to balance ship boni since a 5% less cap bonus is barely comparable to a 5% damage bonus, so the amarr get 10%.

the caldari one basically is crap though. i mean, even at caldari bs 4 its not even enough to push torps over 1 km/s.... and no matter how fast the things go, they still do the same damage. and the other races dont have to worry about speed at all (i know this is balanced in the weapon types, so not much fo a disadvantage to missiles). but my point is, that 5% (or even 10%) velocity bonus is *in no way* as effective and useful as a damage or rof bonus.

try it before you say anything. my torps go at 1.1km / s --------------------------
