First you need to do missions to get standing with one of the research corps. Then you you need to train the research skills (listed under science section), then have a search for the agents with matching skills.
Have a look at eve agents for the list of research agents and the skills each has (each agent only has a limited number of research skills) as you need to have the same skill as the agent to get the research corp. Macrointel, the place were the nature order of the universe does not hold sway. Pirates and ore thief's are congratulated by carebears for the actions. |

You can't just train up connections anymore and get research agents due to a change in the connections/diplomacy skills from the last patch.
You HAVE to either have negative standing with diplomacy trained to turn it into positive standing
or
Do a mission for the corporation the R&D agent belongs to (any L1 mission will do) and then connections skill will increase that standing. --

Low lvl research agents are a waste of time.
High lvl ones might be too but thats a seperate issue.

"Waste of time" is relative. If you're a mission runner anyway, you can get the relevant skills to max out your passive income from R&D quite easily.
The important word above is "passive" - it's extra income that requires no work from you, other than occasionally picking up the datacores when you remember to. ----------------

I have 6 lvl 4 agents. I know what its relative too.
Making any effort to simply get 1 or 2 low agents is a total waste of effort for anyone.
If you have 6 on a good line its about a billion isk a year. Its a lot of training for a just a billion isk per year but for some people its a good deal for some people its a waste.

would take lots of wasted social skills. also, since no storyline agents exist for r&d corps. would take forever to use decent agents. huge waste of time if you ask me and i have 8+ caldari state faction, 6+ amarr faction etc... so, i could technically go right to one lvl 4 agent for kill missions to build standings. main problem is if anyone else in corp has any standings for the same corp. you're trying to build up. the overall corp. standings would drop down due to them. since, they take the adv. of everyone with any standings. 0 not calculated. only good for select group of loners.

This is inaccurate.

ok, you're right. but, they are few and far between. to find one that you could actually get/use is nearly impossible.

It's called "searching". Or, using eve-agents.com, for instance. All storyline agents are L1Q0 and have the fact they are storyline agents mentioned on them. Finding several is actually quite trivial. Like this, for instance (hope that link works).

not trivial. just big pain in the ass to accomplish little bit of "passive isk" much easier to just blow some one up hauling some good ****.
