So for a few hours now out of sheer boredom I've been trying to get a ship speed up to 10,000 m/s I've almost managed 9000 ish any ideas?

Well, rest assured that when you get it up to 10km/s you probably wont see the gigantic nerf-bat hiding behind that moon...

Bonused by : - "All level V" Claymore with 3 gang links and Skirmish Mindlink - HG Snake set and other speed related implants
Overloaded MWD makes it go 13.3 km/s as long as you have 800's in cargo ----------

Not as crazy of a fit as the previous ships..
Ares: 4 OD injector II's , 1 MWD II. 2 auxilary thruster rigs and a gang link claymore w/mindlink = 6582 m/s or 9480 m/s Overheated.
Add a full set of snake and speed implants to the Ares and you get 8572 m/s and 12.4km/s overheated.

Nah. I had a corp mate try this once on a very persitant isk farmer's logistics archon. He probably tried 50 times. It never worked.
The over sized mwd is worthless in any real combat situation. It will cap most ships out long before you hit max speed. Even if you do hit it you have zero agility. 10k speeds aren't worth much if it takes you 3 minutes to accelerate.

Okay I know you wanted to be able to fly it, but you'll get to by time, if you really wanna reach high speeds, then you should go for this build:
First up, get a Claw, and fit it in this way: [Claw, Speed] Low slot Thukker Micro Auxiliary Power Core Thukker Micro Auxiliary Power Core Ammatar Navy Reactor Control Unit Ammatar Navy Reactor Control Unit
Mid slot 10MN Digital Booster Rockets Micro Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I, Cap Booster 200
High slot Domination 125mm Autocannon, Domination EMP S Domination 125mm Autocannon, Domination EMP S Domination 125mm Autocannon, Domination EMP S [empty high slot]
Rig slot Ancillary Current Router II Ancillary Current Router II
Then get the following implants: Implant slot 1-6: Snake set Implant slot 7: Hardwiring - Inherent Implants 'Squire' QU8 Implant slot 8: Zor's Custom Navigation Hyper-Link
Then get a bunch of 200Cap boosters, and a battlecruiser/commanding ship/gang module ship, with: "Skirmish Warfare Link- Rapid Deployment" in fleet.
You might want some logistic ships, to boost your cap while flying :)
This build (with fleet boost), should according to EFT, be able to reach 15.7km/s without overheating :) ^^someone should try it :)

I beg to differ. I've personally taken a Cyclone with an oversized MWD and bumped a station camping Thanato 300 m/s.
Ive tried a cruiser with oversized MWD (Maller) and it was terrible at bumping caps (missed all but one of my attempts). For some reason it works best with a battlecruiser.
Battlecruisers are ideal because they get the massive speed boost of an oversized MWD. Yet they get the mass increase of a BS. They also have the slots to fit multiple inertia modifying mods, and the grid to also fit a cap injector.
Use at least 3 inertia modifier modules (i-stabs or nanofibers) to reduce acceleration times from ~40 seconds to ~20 seconds. Overheat the MWD.
Warp to about 70km of target, accelerate - overheat - keep spamming the approach button.
Works best with a friend to keep bumping the ship - you can alternate. When we were bumping the carrier 300 m/s each - it took about 2-3 consecutive bump cycles and the thanatos was 15km away from dock.
Enter heavy tackle and webbing and eventual cap ship kill.

The only time this might work, and I stress might is on a station with a small docking radius. 300ms is not enough speed to bring a cap out of the docking range of many stations. And any cap pilot whos not ******ed is well aware of that, meaning they don't aggro on stations that don't have emense docking ranges.
Oversized mwds are just a silly gimmick. Please post the cap kills instead of just bragging about the speed they were bumped too. If it doesn't die, the bump was irrelevant.
