OK, I want to try some stuff out on the test server.
So I have downloaded the Eve test stuff to a different place from my normal Eve (a different drive) and install it. Everything goes ok but when I try to log on it says incompatible. I have tried this several times over a month or so. Sometimes it says it needs a patch and patches fine but then every time I try to log on I get incompatible again.
What am I doing wrong?
Driving me mad so any help/advice appreciated. |

all i do is copy my current eve folder to the root of my C: drive. change the name of the folder to EVE singularity, then i make a shortcut on my desktop to point to the eve.exe file contained inside changing the target line to read ... i'll just post the bit from our corp forums:
getting on the test server is easy.
copy your current eve folder to the C drive on your computer to keep it separate from your main client and call it "EVE singularity" open that folder find the eve.exe file and make a shortcut on your desktop for it change the name of the shortcut to SISI right click on the shortcut and select properties
then delete all the text in the "target:" box
copy and paste this into it (paste the entire line that follows)
"C:\EVE singularity\eve.exe" /end /LUA:OFF /server:87.237.38.50
click apply, click ok
I hope this helps. if it needs to be patched patch is as usual making sure you dont patch your main 'live' eve folder. and all should be good.
contact me in game if you need further assistance (provided im around )

Also post in the Game Development forum as you'll get a faster (maybe better) awnser.
To get on:
Make a folder called EVE TEST or something like that
Find your TQ installation file and copy EVERYTHING to the EVE TEST file
Right click eve.exe and click "create shortcut"
Right click on the shortcut and click properties
Where it says target add /server:singularity
For me it looks like C:\evetest\EVE\eve.exe /server:singularity
Hope it helps!
P.S.: For all patches and server information go to This Website

Thanks for both the replies.
For info I tried both the methods above (I actually have it installed on the D drive, I just added the extra bits in the shortcut properties) and both worked.
Thanks again. |
