My main has -3.5 with Amarr and well, since I now live in Amarr space, I would like to raise that. However, I wasnĘt able to find an agent that would allow me to work my faction back up.
I have diplomacy and other skills up but I doubt that even at level 5 it would make a huge difference. Could someone give me some tips please?

Find someone with standings for an Amarr lvl4-agent. Grind with him/her, until you can talk to that particular agent on your own.
Then just grind, and grind.

How high is your diplomacy skill?
At 2 my Minmatar -3.69 jumps to -2.6 - So IV should get you closer.
Failing that, find a singular corp that's Ammarian, find a friend who has standings with them, have them grind you thru a bunch of missions to get standing with a particular agent and work from there.

the grinding with other people in lvl 4's really wont help that much, i suggest taking a vacation in caldari space and working for agents there (if its not already below -2.0) get that faction standing up and that will also raise amarr standings slightly.

I don't think that works, 'cause as far as I know you need to have higher than -2 standings for a faction to let anyone talk to you, regardless of personal/corp standings with those agents.
Best bet is Caldari agents and training diplomacy

These Factions are friends with the Amarrian Empire, maybe you have high enough standings to do some work for them? (best choice is first)

Mission for them, get those storyline missions and your standing will rise. And train your social skills, use the special agents (storyline & cosmos) to get quick faction staniding boosts.
