Edited by: Forrrest Gump on 02/06/2009 00:48:07 I have been war deking a corp for about 2 weeks now and its in its third week beginning since last saturday.
Now last week they created an alliance a one corp alliance to obviously raise the cost of the war dek from 2 million a week to 50 million a week. Oh well the jump from being at war with the corp to the alliance was not due to happen until saturday the 6th of june. I also had no plan on paying the 50 million war dek fee and never did. So now they bring in 2-3 corps in this alliance....which shud still be unable to fight me until saturday and when I pay the 50 million extra war dek cost against the alliance....
I log in today to find that the whole alliance is now able to be part of the war even though they have not war deked me and I have not payed the 50 million fee to war dek them even though they shouldn't be able to fight even if I did pay the war dek fee until saturday?
So how are they able to fight in war? Is this an exploit?

Nope. It's all legit. A corporation may not join or create an alliance if it is the aggressor. Upon joining an alliance a corp under war dec will transfer that war dec to the alliance and all component corporations. Any corporation joining an alliance will fall under any active war decs that the alliance has.
So....
Target corp was not the aggressor and can form/join an alliance. Your war dec is upgraded to an alliance war dec because of this. Corps join new alliance and become a part of the war because the alliance is at war.
Tough luck.

Life, is like a box of Chocolates.
You war dec an entity - the entity joins/makes an alliance (alliance entity absorbs effects) - corps join an alliance (they are now at war with you) - Pew pew , and profit.

Here's the real story:
This guy is an alt, of course. Started a one man corp to harass a carebear corp - which is totally fine, more power to him. Plans were already in motion at this point to get the alliance formed. Once the alliance was formed and suddenly there were more people, some of which weren't afraid to shoot at him, he began his whine on the forums.
Once the corp started the alliance, you were at war with the alliance, buddy. We woulda dec'd you anyway and it woulda taken about the same amount of time for us to get into the fight. We popped ONE ship and now you're crying on the forums.

I was in that case (aggressing corp willing to join an alliance) and we had to drop our wardecs to be able to join our alliance. It's not a rule as in "petitionable and enforced by GMs", it's a rule as in "the game won't let you do it". -- 081014 : emoragequit, char transfered to a friend, 090317 : back to original owner blog |

i have been in the same position. the game makes you drop wardecs in which you are the agressor to join an alliance |
